aquanaut is targeted at the younger folks.
Yes.. it does look that way. I do feel that Patek deliberately made the bracelet look funky and the dial and hands a little weird while still keeping the PP look. Could be that they did not want it to usurp the sales for the higher priced models and keep the traditional PP collector happy that there isn't a "cheap" Patek that looks like the Nautilus. Hence, the best Aquanaut would be one on a rubber strap.
Wow Donald
Having taken a serious look at both your models, i'm shocked to find out the 5980 and 5711 in terms of pricing is absolutely far apart! what choices!
I know you'll hate me for this, but if you are considering the 5980, at that price for stainless steel, why don't you take a dip into the Complications Range as well and see what turns your fancy. May i be so bold as to recommend the 5396, which i know the KLCC branch has in stock. Its the same price for the 5980. Just something for you to consider.
The SA did ask if I would like to view and try on the Annual Calendar models.
Now maybe you'll hate me for this, but I remarked that if I was interested in a complication, I would rather have the Perpetual Calendar models instead of an Annual. She commented about collecting PP from the basic complications and I told her if I had a Perpetual, would I still bother with an Annual?
Anyway, I wouldn't get to use a dress watch as often as I would like to so I'm not into them at the moment... but the 5208P would make a very nice dress watch indeed won't you say? That's a dream at the moment...
