Hello and welcome.
As to your question... I guess most of us here are a passionate bunch... and once passion is involved, logic seems to be the first to go. It's like falling in love u see...
Affordability is subjective... some ppl earn 2k a month and have 2k disposable income a month... no need to pay for house, car, bills and etc...
Some ppl earn 8k a month yet only have 1k disposable income a month... after minus to pay house, car, bills and etc.
You might get the impression that most of us here is loaded coz we wear big name watches but its not the case.
We might save abit by abit or sell of some old watches to fund for new ones... yeah, I know some are really loaded here like those that owns so much property than they can wave a stick at.  ;D
But those are exceptions.
Most of us have to take care of family first... kids and wife being the top priority, then put away some cash away each month and wait till it's enough to finally buy that piece we've been aiming for... the harder it is to come by, the more it will be appreciated. For you to own a watch above 10k, all u need to do is to put away 350 a month for 3 years... and you have 12k+ to spend. And wether you can drop that amount on a watch will depend on how much you are in love with the watch.

Oh yeah... for everything else... there's always Mastercard.  :Laughing_on_floor:

Is there an investment plan that pays out 21.6% return per annum like clockwork every year?

Yes, may not be for all. Also the number of countries that need Kalashnikovs getting lesser and lesser.  ::)  :o

Hehehe.... there IS actually an investment plan that pays out that amount like clockwork every year.
I would say it is one of the best kept secrets in Malaysia and only available to a select few...
Thing is you cannot include the money you make into your tax forms...
Phantom income I call it... And not to mention high liquidity...

I agree with the rest.

I'm still saving and when I join the big boys it just means that I saved enough.

Not everyone starts with Rolex or panarei my grehartm most start with casio and seiko and just work up the chain ;)

Another thing is that you have a biased view coming to a watch forum mate. We all love watches. It's a skewed sample. These people love them so much that I am assuming they forgo other interest like car modification or something of the like for watches.

Enjoy yourself in MWF and learn heaps. One week here and I am understanding vintage when I had no idea before this.

Well said. I like your part about the disposable income. This explained one can still afford a rm2k watch earning when earing less than rm4k monthly.

When you are free of housing / car loan, children education and utilities bill and what nots, you are free of long term expenditure.
You only have to take good care of your health and three meals a day. And look forward to your daily interest which brings joy and activates your brain cell and keep going.........blah blah.

Agree with most comments here... have to work up the ladder, including our income, and career! For me, Tag Heuer is also expensive! Luxury things don't come cheap and I suppose most of us here also break our bank to buy it! Even when have the $$$ to buy it, still have to get wifey's  approval...That is even more difficult! hehehe!!!
