ok guys..another "what do you think" thread.
i just sold my cartier santos 100 XL Chrono (glad i did because it's been a white elephant and it looks like a pair of cuffs on my tiny wrist). with this cash in my wallet...the itch starts again and i'm thinking of finding a replacement.
i chanced upon a pre-loved MIH watch (i can get it tmr) and i'm kinda interested in it. it's a simple and unique watch with a lot of complications (annual calendar being one of them). it's not often that this watch appears in the forum. oh, i also lack an annual calendar watch in my collection. here's the review:
http://www.ablogtowatch.com/mih-watch-review/ or
http://www.mih-watch.ch/index.php?page=167oh, i'm also a bit concerned about where to service this MIH watch after i buy it...eventhough it's using 7750 movement...it's complications that seem pretty complex to me...not sure if any local watch repairers can do the job or i've to send to back to HQ (and i'm a bit wary of sending watches overseas...skali it get lost on the way there/back....how??).
and many of you also know that i've been wanting to buy a RG dress watch so maybe i should set aside ths $$ for it? i kinda like the following watches (and torn between them):
1. RM10 (always been my grail)
2. Laurent Ferrier Galet Traveller
3. Hautlence Destination 2
4. Harry Winston Midnight/Midnight Big Date
For watch 1-3, my only concern is who can service it if they go bust? Like Alain Silberstein/Wyler...not only servicing is a problem...the timepieces literally depreciates over 80% or more when they go bust (i don't think it's appropriate to use the word "worthless" here). I would like to try to own a timepiece from an independent but do i've to resign to the fate of this possiblity? the cost of any of these watches is not cheap....
advice and comments please....
cheers
james
