Hi,
I'm a newbie, and on the verge of buying my first Rolex from a 'grey' dealer (a seemingly reputable dealer from the feedback in this forum). I'm going for the Submariner 116610LN, which is presently out of stock in most (if not all) the ADs in KL and Selangor. Hence, my option of getting from the 'grey' dealer, since it's cheaper as well.
I was informed by the said dealer (and another dealer I contacted on a previous occasion) that I can only authenticate the watch at the RSC after paying in full (by the way, the watch in question is brand new). However, they assured me that if the watch is confirmed fake by the RSC, I will get a full refund.
Is this the normal practice since I gather from the Singapore Rolex Owner forum that watches (including Rolex) are normally authenticated before the deal is closed. I assume this is also true for new watches acquired from 'grey' dealer in Singapore.
My concern is should the watch is found to be fake, the dealer might say that it was tampered with after it left their premises (or some other excuses).
Any advise/feedback from sifus is greatly appreciated.
Thanks and regards.
