Anyone gotten the new Tudor Pelagos yet?
« on: January 24, 2013, 08:26:20 AM »
I'm curious to know the owner experience of this watch. I am very excited since I learn about it last year but so far I haven't seen one in metal yet.

Anyone owner care to share?

Best
Tyler

Tyler u can see it in d metal at Rolex outlets n some THG outlets.
I 've been offered a few times but am waiting for the disc to be better. Its still hot so let the heat die down first.

I've tried in a watch shop ground floor lot 10.. Very very poison.. and very very beautiful watch. It is not displayed in showcase. I have to ask and they brought out for me to try.

Hi Tyler,

As an owner of Tudor Pelagos, I would like to share my personal experience to all. I purchased this watch in Oct 2012 and since, I had been wearing it during most of the week days till now. I guess I need not detail out on the specs of this watch as i believe most watch collectors are well aware. Please find my personal rating as summarize below,

Scale fm 0 (worst) to 10 (excellent)

1. Comfort: 9
This watch nicely fits my 6.75 inch wrist.

2. Built: 10
As solid as any rollie that i have owned.

3. Movement: 8
I am pretty satified with the performance of ETA 2824 which according to the Tudor specialist, it is of top grade. Accuracy wise is within COSC range. Mine has been consistently running at +3 s per day since day one. The slightest thing that bothers me if i have to comment is the standard 38 hrs power reserve.

4. Bracelet: 10
One of the best bracelet i have ever worn in terms of comfort ( light due to titanium) and easiness for adjustment purposes.

5. Lume: 10
So far this is one of the best lume i have encountered apart from Ball watches. Simply impressive. Only when you have owned it, you can tell.

Conclusion: I must say that Pelagos is truly an awesome model which is definitely value for money considering it as a proper diver watch with water resistant of 500m (HEV). The quality of the built is definitely on par with any rollies except for its movement. The only downside is the resale value for Tudor watches which I believe most watch collectors are well aware of. If I have to recommend any friend for any diving watch, this one will surely be the top list.

Handled it by flesh before. It is considered bigger size over sea dweller eventhough SD had much higher WR. I am very dissapointed on the bracelet. It feels very cheap even compared to the Rolex explorer I 36mm. I am quite concern about the durability of the claps, it seems to be more complicated to Rolex glidelock. I would stay away from this, not to say it bad watch but its more like personal preference :)

I love titanium built watch, just a pity this watch dont have a overall package  :'(

What is a overall package?

Good solid bracelet that doesnt give feeling of flimsyness, reliable functional claps since its a diver watch, you wont want the whole thing go off while in water/land so it will be better off without fancy claps design, design of the dial/case that ticks ppl heart when they look onto it.

Does that answer your question?  Its like having a sandwich with good filling but with shitty bread or having the best beef you can buy but its cooked by someone who have no idea on cooking steak.

I see.. you meant the whole watch design and features. I was thinking along the line of the package presentation i.e. luxurious or cheap watch box, the linings and the cushions :)

simple...
buy the watch and put it on a water resistant carbon fibre, sailcloth or NATO strap...

had tried many time at AD, really love it no complain, sit well and comfort on my wrist, light weight yet solid Ti case, bright blue lume and the iconic snowflake hour hand.

Sorry to sidetrack but I personally think the Black Bay looks nicer. Havent handled either in person though.

Hi Rix,

To answer your query, I would say it depends entirely on the wearer. If you wear it carefully, scratches would definitely be avoided. So far my piece still look pretty mint eventhough I have been wearing it everyday (daytime only) since purchased.

Thanks for all the reply. I must say the bracelet is one of the main attraction for me beside the dial. Since I read two opposing thoughts on the bracelet. I think is best I go try one on in the shop.

I'm really excited about this watch.

Regard
Tyler

All steel bracelets will scratch, titanium is no different..
u just have to be careful…

I haven't come across any steel/titanium bracelet that doesn't show hairline scratches after a few weeks of use..

Maybe if someone has a DLC/PVD coated bracelet to show us if its any different...
