very very nice! congrats JayJay on your new acquisition. It's summertime in Dubai now so we might as well spend time indoors admiring watches right? Congrats again...!

looks like from the Tower Rotana Hotel.

The first picture looks like from the Monarch hotel.

are you guys in Dubai as well?

No I am not in Dubai (fortunately I guess, not used to temperature close to 50C). But when I am in Dubai, I often stay at the Towers Rotana.

Yes, the winter months are really pleasant. You can expect such great weather Nov to mid March.
From mid March to May, the evening temperature is pleasant.

Bro Jay Jay,
Congrats on your beautiful new piece, looks great!
Was at Gurney Plaza, Penang last weekend and walked into the Rolex / Tudor AD hoping to get a feel of the Black Bay & Pelagos.
No luck cos no stock.  :Blue:
But the salesman gave a copy of the latest catalogue, so no loss!  ;D
Take care, Ciao!

My local AD has the Pelagos in stock.
Tested it out.
Awesome watch!! Retail is spot on at rm13132.

1st impression is it's really a well made solid piece of work.
Legibility is top notch with good contrasts.
Dial and slanting rehaut is really cool.

I will reserve my opinions of the clasp though... I dunno if it is made to last.
Alot if moving parts and spring loaded.
Just read that the watch and bracelet is made from Titanium but the clasp is made of stainless steel...

Watch is of course made fully in Titanium as well as the bracelet. Very light.
I like the caseback. It is almost flat and once on the wrist, the case sits flush.
Unlike the Subc which caseback is bulging... that's one of the reasons why I like the GMTIIc.
The lugs are short, hence better fit for small wrists.
Shorter than Black Bay if it's from pictures.
But I will confirm once I inspect the Black Bay in person.
Plenty of watch for the money.

The clasp is the deciding factor for me.
Spring, boooo....
The opening which WILL trap dirt etc....not a good design to me.

Yeah, I think it will be a dirt magnet... but lets be fair... the functionality is there, but I doubt anyone will be using it unless you're a serious diver.
There are 3 stages for micro adjustment that works alot like the one found on the Rolex Subc, only without clicking... Just pull, adjust and put it back. No snapping action or whatever...
The 4th stage is the one that will utilize the spring action for wrist size changes during diving...
Just stick to the micro adjustments and leave the spring as a novelty... lol

I am surprised that the Pelagos has arrived at several THG outlets as well as those stand-alone Rolex/Tudor outlets in Gardens/Pavilion/KLCC,etc

Apparently ALL of them have been sold out at the full RRP of RM13,132  i.e. zero discount.
However no owner has yet posted any pictures of the Pelagos in mwf yet...apart from hanz
meaning there are many watch enthusiasts that don't log in to MWF or are not aware of MWF ?...

Personal taste and preferences evolve over years, hopefully not 1 full circle otherwise it means we haven't learnt a single thing.

Seen it too at my local ad, there have one in stock. The watch is slightly bigger than seadweller. Quite dissapointed the depth rating for pelagos is lower than SD for its given size.

 for Titanium the case design and the dial. I had no problem owning titanium watch. Like it very much & its my personal opinion so it may differ for others.

 bracelet and claps, bracelet look cheap in my opinion. My tutima bracelet does look better than this. Claps, gotta agree with pete

I had reservation buying it from KL ad, dont really like the way they do business as a walk in customer point of view. Eg  out of stock (while they have some at the safe), no discounts (unless returning customer or mates rate), "limited edition" bullshit.

Probably will only get it once i got my other target. I gotta complete the titanium collection which is air(got it), land(got it) and sea (blank  ???) ;D

The AD can give discount, the AD where Hanz was trying out.
