Most definitely, I can be very attracted to a watch from its pictures but when its on my wrist it may lose its initial appeal.
I've ended many times not buying watches which I was initially interested in based on their pictures. Sometimes its the thickness, the bulkiness, proportions, etc…
After disposing of every single watch I owned with ETA ebauches I was initially hesitant to buy yet another watch with an ETA/Sellita/Soprod but so far the watch looks really good and at the asking price, its still acceptable. I have a limit on the price I would pay for any watch with an ETA unless it has been heavily modified and improved.
All I can say is to have a look at the actual watch first. Once you have seen the watch, take a step back, take a deep breath and decide if it is really for you or are you caught by the hype.
