Hi !

Beginner

This is up to which PAM that would you like to have.
For a beginner , the basic piece is PAM 111.
There is a few point which you can consider at which is
if you are a regular traveller , you may consider on PAM 88 as this is GMT model.

If you have more then a watch, then you can consider on PAM 90 as this is a PR piece.

For my personal opinion after the survey and research that I have done based on your question, I suggest
you can get a PAM 5 or PAM 0 as this is not so ' basic' look and this piece comes with the logo and
PAM 111 is too basic and too common which too many ppl have it.

Hopes this all can helps you and need comrades over here to give more opinion.

aside from design I would get a Pam with an inhouse movement. PAM 200 or 201 is sweet! but so expensive!
an entry level  such as 305, 320, 329 would do just fine.

you may want to consider 312...new movement and the price is pretty near to the 3 pammies you listed in your thread.

the "cheapest" inhouse maybe P.9000 is used in 312, 328, 305
next inline P.9001 used in 320, 329

Base is, imo, the best choice since it is the closest to the original PAM...manual winding, sandwich dial, non-hacking. Most ristis will eventually get a Base at one point or another. You may also want to scour the pre-own market for a 1 or 2. Anyway, you can't go wrong with either one. 88 is a classic (the PAM that got me started).

The three models you listed are hard to come by. I have not heard of many shipments for these three models this year as Panerai seemed to be pushing the new manifactura models more to the ADs this year. Good luck with your search.

The Base and Marina are always the best! Great article and thanks for sharing.

Totally agree with fred do consider Radiomir my fren because it is the "ori" design way before the Luminor that we all know to day and IMHO the best PAM must have these criterias:

1) Manual wound movement
2) Sandwich dial with 3,6,9,12 highlighted

Because these criteria is as close to the original design as possible which from start Panerai dont have its own movement it is all the while using third party movement. On top of that the whole Panerai frenzy is about its history with the Italian Royal Navy and its close ties with the world's first underwater special forces so its all about getting the closes to what its original design as possible.

Select any one form the Historic collection will be a good start I would say 210 is good to start from

Hi ex001,
You may get better response if you post this under the Classified section.
I recently saw two brand new PAMs available. A PAM 104, with discount and PAM 005 at a premium. PM me for the shop name and location.
