Ya I know Rolex is still the best, but I'm saving that for later, maybe in a year or two. What about girrard perregaux? Some if their designs aren't too bad but I'm not sure if they are automatic or whether it is a good brand.

GP is not cheap as well. wont think u can get it below 10k

if preown then u gt more choice than juz cartier. i saw a frank muller oso is ard ur budget.

omega with diamond is nice. most gal like blink blink item.

but most important is u identity the brand o the model n bring ur gf o wife to try it if she like it. buying things for the other half must make sure she like it. if not she wont wear it often is a waste.

Longines Prima Luna Automatic... 3k+

Longines Prima Luna Automatic with Diamonds... 6k+

I have checked out Rolex as well and I agree it is the best there is... the cheapest one that I think my wife would like already costs 16k+...  :o

What do you guys think about this?

There is one without diamonds going for 16k+
In fact, the whole range of Datejust 36mm polished bezel oyster band combo watches costs around that area.
There is a choice of all kinds of dial... this flower one is just one of them.
The flower dial seems to get a lot of flak for not being classic Rolex.
Anyone here that the other half is wearing a Rolex sports model?
I have seen ladies sporting the new Sub Ceramic and it looks good...
I would love to get her one so that we can share.
If she's not wearing, I can wear... if she wanna wear... then I wear my ExpII lor...

if your wife wants something casual and sporty. this would not break the bank and is just slightly above the budget.

a great classy piece that comes in a variety of colours and design in the dials.

go this for her birthday last year.

Hanz, got to agree with you there. Rolex is the best for classic ladies watch. However, don't have the funds now although I promised her one in a couple of years time. Her old watch is out of commission so I wanted to get her something nice in the meantime but also something that can last.

Ya, will prob bring her to see a few that I have narrowed down.

Airking preowned is  +-SGD3k depending on age, condition and completeness of the set.

for a everyday wear..box and papers are quite negligible imho, it's a bonus if it comes with it and if the price does not break the bank. save the money for a nice dinner

Have you considered the new Oris Aquis date? Its got a ceramic bezel. Less chances of getting scratched. It comes in black or white (dial & bezel). Its about RM5400 b4 discount. Ones with diamonds might cost a little bit more.

There are actually lots of choices if ur partner is a sporty and adventureous person.

I saw women wearing Men's speedy and Exp2 on NATO with business attire and it rocks and looks sexy

Also a preowned women's speedy reduced is very sexy too! And is around ur budget

Showed my wife a Exp before deciding on the AK but she said the Mercedes hands are too masculine for her. So opted for the AK with blue dial; her favourite colour. we could be sharing the watch.....sigh  :Laughing_on_floor:

The newer AKs comes in a myriad of colours in both lume and dials. Some are really cute with pink and blue lume. The newer clasp is also cooler. I do notice alot of women wearing AKs in SG nowadays. Quite a trendy cute watch

to tempt u further  ;D

too many variations in dial design, lume colour and bezel to choose from. but I think the 3,6,9 coloured dial is more contemporary appeals to ladies more.

here are a few examples.

1. white dialed white markers with engine turned bezel. lumes green btw

2. salmon dial

3. silver dial, blue lume. IMHO the rounded bezel makes the watch looks slightly larger than the the former bezel.

of course there are tons of other dials ..baton only..roman numerals...concentric+arabic dial... and etc. just google it up.

all the best in your hunt

also preowned 26mm ladies s/s datejust is around your budget too.

not to mention 24mm Oyster Perpetual as well.

that is if she is looking for something slightly formal and have small wrist and prefers smaller watches.

Looks like Rolex is the way to go.. oh well, not this time for me as I'm looking for something new. There is monetary value and there is sentimental value. This time, I'll go for sentimental. (also because she said if I'm giving her a watch, she prefer the first to be new :p )

Good luck with your hunt hanz, and Terrence, thanks very much for sharing the pics. The AK does look very good on a lady. Maybe I cab get her this later after I convince her that preloved isn't too bad..

I guess I might go for sentimental value as well...
My wife's birthday is in 4 days time and I don't think I have time to hunt slowly... lol
I will go for a preloved but no need to tell her it is one...
Before giving it to her, just hide the papers... send the watch for a polish... tadaaa!!! :Dancing_banana: :Dancing_banana: As good as new!!
