Ladies automatic watches
« on: October 18, 2011, 05:50:23 PM »
Need some help with regards a ladies automatic watch. I plan to buy one as a gift but am having some trouble finding a good ladies automatic. Most of the ladies watches I see are quartz, even the omega constellation. Anyway, I don't have that big if a budget, somewhere around RM6k maybe? Anyone have anything good to recommend?

Oh ya, preferably new although I'm willing to consider preloved if it's for something really good. Thanks very much!

I was about to start a new thread about the same topic.
Anyway, my wife is currently wearing a Mido Belluna Automatic.

It's around 2k+

I am thinking of upgrading for her as I might make a big purchase for myself later in the year.
And I have a budget of around 6k as well...  ;D

bro, with ur budget i can only think of mido, oris n longines which is close. other than that i dont think any wellknown swiss brand below ur budget unless is preown.

omega gt the latest lady co-axial which cost abt 13k, very nice in 31mm. maurice n breitling also have auto model but also close to 10k. bt among so many model, rolex is still the best as it is more feminine.

i been searching for a while and end up i gt a rolex for my gf.

Ya I know Rolex is still the best, but I'm saving that for later, maybe in a year or two. What about girrard perregaux? Some if their designs aren't too bad but I'm not sure if they are automatic or whether it is a good brand.

With your budget of around rm6k, maybe you like to check out some cartier santos - preloved.

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Only good ones I found around 6k is Mont Blanc and Frederique Constant...
Ladies who want well know brand, I guess Mont Blanc would be a safe bet... only drawback is that they aren't really a "watch" brand.

There is a Zenith Elite going for around 6k at a certain grey dealer...
It's the safest bet at the moment...

I will keep a lookout and update here if there's anything good.
Let's what you got as well yeah?

Seems like I am not alone in bribing for an own purchase down the road... hehehe

dc: mind to pm me where I can find a preloved santos in kl? Worth having a look if it is in excellent condition.

Hanz: ya, saw the zenith but it's not a style that my other half would like.

Bro Hellkite, you better check with your wife whether she is okay to handle the Automatic watch??? There is a reason why most lady watches are quartz, easy for them to handle...

Just my 30 cents

Actually ladies is better off wearing quartz.
Unless the husband is a WIS then she can juz wear the watch and leave the winding and setting to us... hehehe

That's what I'm talking about...
Even if she ask you "How is the correct way to set the date?"
You will answer "Don't worry, I will do it for you" in fear that she might destroy the movement... lol

Haha.. Yup, will probably do the same for her. Then again, she does wear a watch on a daily basis, so keeping it wound shouldn't be too much of a problem. If not, then I can now justify getting a watch winder. Hahaha!

I gave my other half a long lecture on how to care for mechanical watches after i bought her the skeleton Epos...good thing is that the watch doesn't have any complications and the skeletonized movement will at least give her a visual view on what's going on inside the watch

So far from snooping online, at that price range, I can only find longines, ebel and epos automatics. Maybe I should just get a quartz with diamonds, saw a few omega ladies quartz in that range. Sigh..

Quartz with Diamonds is not a bad choice actually... women wear watches as accessories anyway. :D
Thay are not even abit interested in what makes the watch tick.

Couldn't agree more.. I can see my other half spacing out when I tell her about the movements, though sometimes she will ask what the movement is and which is better.

Could opt for a mido, saw a nice multifort model. Has diamonds on it AND is an automatic. Win, win!! :D

Diamond would be more than RM6K even for quartz.

The above is about RM6500 retail, after discount is about RM4Kish

fully agreed as they like to change watches to match with their bag n accesories. they rather to have 10 quatz watches for them to match than juz 1 auto watch tat nid to wear everyday same
