haha... very sound advise from all here..
I myself is a newbie to this hobby. I bought my first wrist watch when I got my first work's bonus. Nothing fancy, just a quartz Tissot. As I progresses thru life, I picked one or two along the way, just to be able to choose and change according to mood. Still, not big into watches, yet.
But my perspective on watched changed. I wanted a watch to fit the occasions that I will partake in.
A dress watch, swimming, jogging, hiking, car track/driving, lepak-ing etc..
As I surf and learn the mechanics and passion of watches from the internet, I was totally attracted to watches more now than before. The readings fueled my passion for watches, but still I stay true to my first intention for getting watches.
I even got a plastic-type Addidas digital watch that I used when travelling in and around China on business trips. Beats the hassle of needing to take off my watch at the scanners....
