Wow G, don't you think you're starting abit too early??
I am married with 2 kids and I did think about passing down what I have to him later.
Maybe 1 definitive piece but I am still looking...
And in the meantime, I'm enjoying whatever I bought first... if there is one that I think will be a heirloom piece, I will still wear it and then when it's time, pass in to him.
But I would not like to pass a brand new one, I very much prefer to pass down a piece that I have worn and make history together.
In that way, I guess it will carry a more sentimental value to my kid later on.
He will look at d watch and say to himself "My Dad used to wear this watch everyday"
But if you were to pass a cold storage watch to him, the watch is in pristine condition and has no history of you ever wearing it... where's the value in that?
But since it's your money, you can do whatever that tickles your fancy though....
