Hi guys, my new 2014's! In fact my very first Omega! Very happy with the purchase.
I have a few sports and divers having dark blue and black dial, so this time decided to have a change, I have opted the Opaline silver, which looks very magical changing from grey to white to beige and silver under different lighting condition. The hour markers and Omega logos have a very 3D-look, love the very fine workmanship and quality look from Omega. Hands are unique as well, totally different design for all 3 hands including the lume application. Talking about the lume, to my surprise, it is the blue-ish lume instead of the conventional green lume, this is completely beyond my expectation, definitely stands out from my other watches. I was contemplating the size of 41.5 and 38.5mm, in fact the 38.5 mm fits my 6.5in wrist alright, but the big brother exhibits a better presence of the watch, having all my watches between 40-42mm, I decided to keep the tradition going. Further, the bracelet size of the 38.5mm(if not mistaken) is 19mm at the lug, this is an odd size and I may have a problem in the future if I decided to replace it with leather. The 41.5 comes with 20mm bracelets tapers to 18 at the buckle, it does comes with some half links at the buckle, so it could be fine tuned to the best comfort and fitting of the owner, which is a big plus point for me! As for the see through back case exhibiting the Omega in house 8500, I have been admiring the deco for a while, however, my eye sight is aging, I'm guessing the very fine engraving is showing 39 jewels, appreciate if anyone could confirm that?! The movement is a bit loud, I can hear it may be 6 in away, the very busy ticking sounds is quite an enjoyment! It's chronometer certified, as of now, I could not tell you the accuracy, and not sure how to check it as well, appreciate if any sifu could share the method?! Power reserve is supposed to be 60hrs as advertised, again, have not verified that at this point of time.
After all, very much contended with this piece, I could be looking at the watch, but I may not be able to tell you the time!
Hope you guys enjoy my very basic review, will post some photos and wrist shot soon.
