Thanks GMTmaster, I suppose the SA thought i am one of his countryman (as I tried to speak my mandarin with the tongue curled + some Chinese accent) so trying to convey his truthful opinion, of course HIS very own opinion on the watch... In fact I got a bit offended when he said the watch looks like a toy watch, but his funny expression over-ridden my irritation, may be I was in a darn good mood that day!

When Taga trying to sell his Speedy Moon to Mars at http://www.malaysiawatchforum.com/index.php/topic,10969.0.html, I was so much tempted and almost PM him... May be that's fate, the time is not right yet, like The Lord says, "You shall wait" ... I wish to have it one day, definitely still lingering in my heart!

yea the moon to mars is nice.
but after having had a speedy, i dont really warm up to them.
i'm sure there are lots out there who like the more vintage designed case with flatter lugs, but with its higher caseback also makes the lug ends just floats above my wrist...and its 7.25"...perhaps someone with bigger or flatter wrists can pull it off nicely...but not me.

This pic I took at the boutique quite a while ago trying the Speedy pro sapphire, yes, the lug ends do float slightly above my wrist as well, though I have quite a flat wrist,  but I think I would get used to it. Talking bout the size, the new Speedy has grown even further, I think I will never get the right wrist to wear those... :-[

Congrats on your AT. It's an excellent choice. Wear it in good health!

If you do want to consider a Speedy, I would suggest the classic moonwatch, i.e. 3570.50. Iconic and will never run out of style.

Thanks guys... Speedy pro will be my next Omega! It is definitely another iconic beauty... The only thing attracted me on 3570.50 is the crisp sound of the Hesalite crystal compared to the very mellow sapphire crystal sound.

Aquaterra will be my luxury everyday watch with minimum hassle and care (auto wind with 60 hrs p.r.+ sapphire), also the convenience of date. Next, Speedy will be my weekend watch, 1 wind per weekend, while my Aquaterra will remain running after the weekend. Haha... Sound like a plan huh?

Not knowing better, I used to scoff at hesalite crystals. Not anymore. The hesalite has a beauty to it, not found on sapphire crystals. It has a nice warm glow when light hits it at an angle. It's also tough to boot. It may scratch rather easily but it's unlikely to chip or crack on you. Also, a couple of rubs with polywatch will fix most scratches.

Thanks timenut, I have read a lot on other forums for this comparison, in summary...

3570- the authentic version, with Hesalite and steel case back with correct wording, some extra maintenance to up keep the Hesalite, love the crisp sound when you tap it with finger nail.

3573- sapphire tends to create a milky ring on the edge, but very clear and readable overall without the warm glare on Hesalite, and not so accurate wording on the case back, but you will see the beautiful movement, and of course no maintenance on the sapphire unless you chip or shatter it, and it cost more to replace than a Hesalite.

3572- Hesalite/ sapphire sandwich, best of both world, but out of production, only in preloved market.

After all, nobody can determine which is superior to which, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, and Speedy pro is indeed very much desirable... Talking about Speedy, hmm... I'm a bit intoxicated by the Mach4.5 after reading the vintage section...  ;) thanks to Jos!
