I was at Isetan KLCC the other day saw quite a fair bit of GShocks there until I was Shock-ed. Pun intended. No, they have some nice models there. But they look damn big for the wrist. Are they nice to wear? The classics ones nicer I think. Smaller in size. The only Quartz I have left is the tiny Tag Formula 1, now 14 yrs old and still ticking. Of course change battery many times. It measures only 31mm if not mistaken.

Guys, if I narrow down my first GShock to Mudman, Gulfman, Riseman and Frogman. Which is a better choice you think and where can I read about the different specifications these models can do. Besides different designs, what should I be looking for? And are all these 4 models Made in Japan? I kinda like the Mudman and Gulfman for their design as compared to Riseman and Frogman. Thank you in advance.

Of the list, only the frogman is mad in japan. Dont hold your breath for the others though. I would rank the Frogman, mudman (9300 range), then followed by riseman or gulfman in terms of desireability. Only the froggie is with screwback case though. You may want to just go to the website and read up the differences - justt too long to explain here and cut n paste looks too tacky. Cheers.

Frogman is definitely the ultimate G, it is suitable for deep sea diving. Riseman have sensors similar to protrek range, only lacks the compass (and also my favorite) ;D  Mudman with the twin sensor is kinda cool too, no comment on Gulfman though cos no really into the design. Happy hunting !

My mudman is also made in japan. For function. i'm choosing mudman (compas + thermometer) rather than frogman (diving function). I start with frogman & now downgrade to mudman. Used to have 7 frogman. Now its only 4. still thinking which one to let go.

The advantage of collecting frogman is it hold the value well ;D .

Realised Froggie highly in demand. I am getting Mudman for it's practicality and more wearable IMO. For me that is. But called Sunway and Paradigm, out of stock and have to wait 2 weeks and see. Will check out Isetan and Robinsons. Thought I saw somethig there.

I am going with Mudman. I like the design out of the 4 Master Gs. I need yo get 4 units actually cos 3 are for my friends. Converted them into G Shocks.

Frogman is a lot higher in terms of price, if you are planning as a daily used watch then it is not suitable. Besides that it is heavy and the diving log is pretty useless
The new mudman with the compass is a good choice, casio has done a good job "hiding" the sensors so it wont so ugly
