Just Arrived: Speedbird III
« on: May 09, 2010, 06:13:27 PM »
Finally got my hands on a Speedbird III (PRS22). This watch is truly outstanding. It is right in just about every way. The bracelet really is the best and most comfortable I've had and that includes brands like Breitling, Omega and Marathon to name a few. It is so well balanced and seems to disappear on the wrist. It's not too big or too thick or too heavy and will now take its place as my everyday watch.

A Q&D picture:

Very nice watch Andy!  Congrats! I am a big fan of pilot watches. Timefactors makes some excellent watches. Would love to have one in my collection in the future.

Yes I love Pilot/Fleiger watches.  Sold a LACO type B recently (just like ck77's).

Yes the Speedbird takes influence from the IWC Mark line of watches. This is the 3rd edition of the Speedbird and Bill Yao of MKII made a similar one called the 'Quad'.

The case, hands and dial have taken inspiration from the MKXV and the bracelet fromt he MKXVI. This watch is 2-3 thousand pounds cheaper than the IWC versions and has a antimagnetic case, sapphire crystal, ETA 2824-2 movement and 100m water resistant. The watch was made and assembled by Fricker GmBH of Germany. Really what else could one ask for? ;D
