With the Euro down, anyone considering new purchases?
« on: May 07, 2010, 06:11:16 AM »
Euro have been going down lately which means for us to buy watches directly from website would be cheaper.
Does anyone think that this is a good time to buy?

Was gonna get a Laco but when the time i decide its all been sold out :P

Any member thinking a purchase where previous they are not?

What are some good affordable brands to buy?

I dont like to rush any purchase just becos the currency is low.  I rush my purchase when the watch is smiling at me (like the Discus berger)   ;D
If you want, you can always purchase some Euro or USD first.  I like the Damasco DC67 or DA37 and I nearly got it when I was in Singapore.  Now I am hoping JP  ¥ is low instead of Euro!   8)

Not to rush per say. but something you have been wanting and now the price "just right" so now you are considering it more seriously.

Maybe this situation applies to ppl like me who is not on a big budget haha.

A suggestion for those who can't decide which watch to buy. Buy the euro and wait for the right watch to come. If that watch does arrive and euro goes up, u make the difference. if u found the watch u like and euro rises, u still buy @ the price the day when euro is low. win-win situation :)

just giving my 2 cets on the current euro predicament, i've been sourcing for a reasonable price for a brand new pam.

*this case may only apply to panerai watches*
to my findings, if u can find a good dealer willing to ship to malaysia, u get a very good discount over the prices at the US.
apparently, panerai has yet to change prices even with the falling euro, but has already put on new prices for june 2010 (after new prices effective jan 2010) to combat the low euro.

take for example : the pam 312
it's $7100 in the states with chances to get a 10% discount = $6390 (which u can easily get on the forums with reputable dealers)
in the EU, list is eur4900 (june '10: eur5100) , discounts if u can find from 4500 euro up to 4800 euro for a brand spanking new one which works to : $5662 (at today's rate)

so tell me, how often is it u can get these kinda discounts if not for the low euro.
