Yeah, your question required a very broad range of answers.
Maybe you can shortlist a couple of watches from the 2 brands?
And rule of thumb is, buy what you like.

It's useless to compare brands - so many different watches and prices...

Which GMT? 88?

Try on both and see which one sings to you. It's pointless asking which one we prefer. It's after all out preference and not yours. Just like clothes, you'll know when u try it on.

88 OLDER MODEL,
go for pam 320 gmt, p9001 newer movement than old 88, and 88 is not sandwich dial....

iwc porto chrono is not the same complication,

but in any case both from Richmond stable.

You have to try it on to see which sings to you. Nothing else really matters.

In any case, I'm bias, so my vote goes to Portuguese Chronograph for me, its very versatile both as a sporty looking watch and a dress watch. The heavily modified valjoux is very reliable and has kept good time for me.

IWC for me. They both have wrist presence. But in the case of the PAM, it takes someone who really knows his PAMs as there are just so many different variations of late and it is just confusing as to which is a "limited" edition and which is not. IWC Portugese has a rich history and lovely movement and it is just so classy. You can strap it on with jeans or with a suit. But at the end of the day...it is which watch calls out to you loudest...good luck and wear them in good health...

IWC all the way. Those are classic designs that will last you decades and still look great. PAM.... not so sure. Trendy now but later? I am looking for something along the lines of an IWC and PAM is not even on the list. IWC vs GO or JLC- that is much closer.
