actually quartz = battery or electricity operated
mechanical = barrel spring power, it can be manual wind or automatic

(spring drive is something in between)

sweep second actually just a watch terms.... most automatic watch is running on 18,000-36,000 beat per hour....
so it is very very fast when the second hand ticking.... especially if second hand is short, it doesnt look like ticking at all....

reset button only useful after the chrono button started and stop, it will reset after the chrono hands stop. and for flyback chrono, the reset button can flyback to 0 and restart

can i 'tumpang' this thread also?

I have used before automatic watches i.e seiko sports and swatch, the low range one, i find them tend to move faster 5 mins after like 1 yr of use. not sure is because i didn't take care them well or not.

does this happen with higher range automatic watches?

When u said it runs faster by 5mins after 1 year, do mean the watch is faster by 5mins after 1 year of continuous running or when u pick it up 1 year later, the accuracy ran off by 5mins daily?

I usually don't wear watch during weekends so after 2 days, need to adjust the time again. So after 2-3 days running, the watch will faster by 5mins like that. This will happen after like 1 year of using the watch.

Wonder if its normal? or is my way of wearing causing the problem..hehe.

I take it the watch ran 5min fast every 3 days. That gave us 5 * 60s / 3days = 100 s/day. That quite fast for me even tat the worst I could live is 20s/day but tat entirely my preference. Signing out, I will leave this thread back to the original owner.  :)
