1) Girard Perregaux Constant Escapement
No brainer. Best watch innovation in recent years, period.

2) Harry Winston Opus XIII
282 jewels, all functional, need not to say much.

3) Arnold & Son DBG
Double balance = 2 hearts, and a second hand that is so sharp it will pierce heart.

4) Tudor Heritage Chrono (blue)
God! it is good looking. And one must at least have 1 option that is "achievable".  ;D

Not if you are willing to wait. I am willing wait up to 2 years for the price to "normalized" ;)

Jason,
I think we have very similar taste..
I'd love to own one of these starting with the Ressence followed by Omega Dark Side of the Moon, Zenith Stratos and maybe the Tudor Blackshield.

1. Zenith Stratos Rainbow Flyback (CHF8k)

2. Omega Speedmaster (black ceramic) (CHF10k)

3. Ressence 3 (not from Basel but a 2013 model)

  • Carpe Diem !!
Wow, the Ressence 3 is a very unique looking watch...

My fav 4 pieces from Dontan's coverage, mainly based on aesthetics:

1) De Bethune DB25 IX Maya

2) Breguet Classique 3755

3) Arnold & Son DBG Equation GMT

4) Breva Génie 01

Of cos, they're way out of reach for me. But good to admire them all the masterpieces.

Jos, noticed the watches you like are all black. The Ressence 3 is an incredible feat of design and engineering involving oil, titanium and magnets. Too bad bout the price, else it would be in my list too. Will be happy to get my hands on either the Zenith or Omega first in the coming months.

hahaha...I go through phases in my collection..
last few phases after 90's were flashy watches e.g. TAG, the SS Rollies then to formal ones JLC, GO, GS then to sporty ones Omega Planet Ocean, JLC NSDA and now black such as Ananta Naoki Sakai Ltd, Damasko DK10.
Still looking for a nice DLC such as Blancpain FF black or a decent watch with black ceramic case....as long as the watch is not too mainstream but yet symetrically or asymetrically beautiful with an excellent calibre inside
