My new arrival
« on: March 13, 2010, 12:41:21 PM »
After a long wait, it finally arrived!

The day it came, no one was home to receive the package.

I made sure I got it the next day.

Guess what it is?

It's a watch of course! But which one?

Any ideas yet? Nope it's not Victorinox.

Big hint. I am sure some of you will recognize this box.

Taa daa! Stowa Antea Creme. Waited 7 months for this sweet piece.

Wrist shot.

A little freebie and came with the watch:

Initial impressions:
It's feel very light. Probably because I am so used to bigger and heavier watches.
Crown was a little difficult to grip and wind due to it's small size.
But I still like it! A very elegant dress watch.

Thanks for looking!

Thank you all for the kind words.

Yes, was worth the wait. But the wait does not bother me. Because you do not pay until the watch is ready. Just place the order, forget about it and you'll get a pleasant surprise when you get a mail from Stowa.

I like simple dial designs.

Now considering the Stowa Flieger... Hmm...

FYI, Stowa will be using the new Soprod A10 movement in their Flieger and MO soon:

Congrats Hush!
Very nice and simple piece you got there.
From the pics the lugs look kinda long eh?

Was the wait due to Stowa backlog?

From my observations, there is always a backlog for almost all the models eg. MO, antea and flieger. Demand exceeds supply because its so popular...

I think only the prodiver is ready stock.

Yeah the lugs looks long but blends in well with the overall design. Its based on a vintage stowa:

From you pics its a cream dial?

Looks like they stayed quite true to the original design only changing the font size of the numbers.

Display back?

Yes, its cream dial. Hands are black.
But from the looks of it, the original might be blue.

Yes, display back too. Movement is eta2824 and its beautifully decorated. Probably one of the best I have seen for this movement.

Will post pics when I have some free time.

Hi,

This watch is sold online. Google "Stowa" and you will find the company's website. All info on the watch incl. pricing will be there.  ;)

They a have a backlog of orders and a small team. The good thing is you don't pay till they have the watch ready. And it is worth the wait!  ;)
