Something Diffrent From the Norm
« on: February 22, 2010, 06:04:56 PM »
I just got this shipped from HK today.

Praesto Modern Fligeruhr

It is 44 mm watch powered by citizen miyota movement which is hand wind-able

Comparison with other watches

Seiko 5 Military watch (42mm)

Fortis Fliger Chronograph (40mm)

This watch uses the buckle & hole ala Panerai style

-How it does wear on my wrist?
It is not good as i had to wear it way back on my wrist (futher in than my seiko) as the maximum provided hole were still leave a wide gap on my skinny wrist :(. Currently trying to find someone who are able to punch Panerai style extra hole so that i can wear it and will fit comfortably on my wrist. Any help would be useful.

-Overall Comment?
I find it a nice watch apart from the weak lume (compared to seiko 5 lumibrite) & like the title it is something different from the norm.

Hope you guys enjoy reading this... Will try to make a review as i am busy these day  :(

Ignore that panerai thing cause i cannot remove the attachtment thinggy  :HammerHead:

EDIT 28 Feb: My wrist shot photo after change to a RM49 strap..

I have come across this piece on the web. This is from new internet watch brand. Interesting interpretation of a flieger watch. But a little too funky for my taste. Would love to see some more detail pics or wrist shots. Good catch nonetheless!

On your strap dilemma, suggest you buy a new strap that fits your wrist. And keep the original one for if/when you decide to sell the watch in the future. And you might not want to risk having the additional holes done badly.

I have a small wrist myself and I will usually buy new straps if the original is too long. Strap hunting also adds to the fun!

Saw a review and video review of this watch on another blog, the blue dial is really nice too.
I find it kinda strange that its a US brand?
But designed by American and made in China shipped frm HK?

Oh yeah and i agree on the new strap idea, its really fun shopping for straps haha.

No it is a Hong Kong watch OEM manufaturer who decide to make a watch themselves. It is design by some 1 (in this case Russ) from US after winning a design competition on praesto own forum to decide which watch design to be used (design of watch i design by normal ppl like you and me). The end result is the watch as u can see in my picture. So it is basically design by someone from US, Movement from Citizen Miyota and Assembled in Hong Kong

Regarding the strap it is a 24mm strap. i am not sure if one of the strap is stiched on to the keeper (haven confirm yet)  :( if so how to take out wor??. So mind to tell which place to do strap shopping in Malaysia? How much usually each cost?
