For your first serious watch, a Rollie is a good choice if you are not sure if you are going to keep it forever and hence worried about re-sale.
However having said that do you want to buy only watches with good resale value hence limiting yourself to only Rollies for your entire horological journey.....

It's definitely a good start but at the same time there is a huge wide horological world out there with unlimited choices to explore.. don't worry you'll definitely move on to alternatives as your tastes changes or gets more refined over time..

Thank you very much to all the Grande Master in MWF. Bravo! I really get good advise from all the seniors.

Having said so; now my choice of first watch are being stream down to 3 ultimate choice for the final selection and try it on the wrist before confirm payment to either seller. And the choice are as follow:

1.  Rolex Submariner 16610 V Series (Pre-Owned) FULLSET
2.  Rolex Sea Dweller (Pre-Owned) Watch & Paper Only
3.  IWC 3717-01 (Pre-Owned) FULLSET

Senior is right, at the end of the day besides all the factors, need to put on the wrist first then only know the feel of it.  ;D

Thanks all MWF Seniors!

Good choices there. You won't go wrong with Rolex. just remember when buying a pre-own rolex to get the seller to give you 3 days to check for authentication. You can easily bring it to Rolex Service Center at Menara Dion and pay them RM160 (if i remember correctly) and check for authentication.

Also remember all watches must be serviced regularly and unless you know the seller very well or he is a reputable watch collector or perhaps u've seen him on these forums, most probably i doubt you can trust them when they say sure sent for regular servicing. So if the watch is more than 4-5 years old, if it was me i would send it to RSC to open it up while checking for authenticaty and ask them to see if it needs servicing or not. Bad side to this is you lose one month due to servicing.

Hi

Go rolex. Sub, gmt or sd, at preowned no worries if you were to flip it later. Get the black bezel. There are plenty preowned to choose from the dealers in town. Get one that is relatively new full set from a reputable dealer.
Insist on a buy-back price w him in case you need to sell. That will give you plenty of options as you continue buying & selling.

I am into this hobby for 3 years. I started w rolex and didnt get hurt. Not that other brands arent good but thats the fact here.

Come to the gtg and surely, all of us can share our experiences w you. I agree w all seniors and as tyler said, its big money you are putting down

Go SD! IMO, SD is more iconic and less common than sub, yet give u more or less the same look...
