Hope it works out for you and let's not lose hope until you hear it directly from the horse' mouth.

Strange that it has no half links. Both you and AD have tried contacting LVMH directly to enquire?

Once they could not get it to fit my wrist, they called HQ to enquire and since they are more keen to close the sale after having the watch shipped over from KL, i will take their word for it as i believe they will be more careful with misinformation especially if it's a deal breaking one.
In the meantime, i have commented on Zenith's FB page and will wait for their feedback.

Thanks mate! I've not been hopeful as interests have picked up strongly in the past couple of years whilst supply is very limited. So, it was a pleasant surprise when my recent watchmaker said he will help me hunt for it and he did!

He's still looking around for the original Gay Ferres ss band but it wont come cheap. The price of band alone is about EUR800. Think I will just live with a leather strap. But will go for test drive first.

No point going for a gf bracelet... it looks good with a strap and original pin buckle IMO.

Thanks! Good luck in your hunt, Terence. May you find the mark soon.

Han, not sure if mine comes in an original pin buckle. Prob just a normal buckle. Will see tom.

bravo my friend, bravo.

your acquisition never cease to amaze. 1st the breitling, now the El-primero.  EP is always regarded as one of the most significant movement ever created, and you'd got the history on your wrist. Please tell me you found a tri-color variation.
Can't wait for your photos.

Thanks for your kind words, mate. Been quite lucky recently but still just a modest vintage collection. Probably chasing 1-2 more (another of my targets popped out suddenly) and plan to take a break after that. Is there an antidote for this poison?

Yes, it's the tri-color sub-dials one. Didnt manage to get UPS in time for today. Will have to be tom.

The poison is stinging more rapidly. Was just asked whether am interested in Monaco 1133B NOS with box and paper. Another of my target! but alas the asking price is just way beyond my budget for a Heuer despite the rarity. Wish I strike the lottery tom.  :Praying:

Ah well, cant get everything. Need to think hard about the other target... also difficult to come across but a much more affordable Heuer.  :P

As promised, here we go! Hope it's ok to post the pic here.

Not on original band nor pin buckle. Still thinking between the GF band and a black leather strap.

Very nice indeed!!
Congratz on your acquisition.
Watch might have been serviced before as the crown looks smaller.
Original crown should be abit bigger... but not a big deal.

WOW Han! You're spot on! Very sharp observation. The crown is indeed not the original factory with Zenith Star but looks like a service one with the square design. But yah, not a big thing to me.

Thanks Bezelnut. A dream come true for me.

Very nice piece bro!  A real classic with the first automatic chronograph movement ever made with a full size rotor and a heart that beats to the 10th of a second.  It can't get any more iconic than this.   Will see if I could pick up any vintage Zeniths when I am in Jap this weekend.

Count the grooves on the crown.
8-9 grooves small crown.
Original bigger crown should be 11-12 grooves viewed from that angle.

It is also common knowledge that once the watch have been sent to service, the crown is the 1st part that gets changed.
I have no idea why they choose to replace the original bigger crown with a smaller one. (trying to steamline parts stock maybe?)
But as long as it is an original Zenith crown, it should not be a problem.

Now I can see it. I do found out that the original crown should have a dome surface with a Zenith star, maybe the camera angle it is not showing on this one.

Thanks for the lesson too...

Wow again. Thanks for sharing! I'm sure it's a service crown based on what I learned fr some Zenith forums earlier.

Would like to seek you guys' opinion on the GF band... if it's EUR550, do you think it's worth it? I've seen some at EUR800. Of cos, condition is prob different but think good enough.

Ok, will post more pics in a separate thread once I have some time this weekend.
