Was looking into the Ball hydrocarbon ceramic and the Tag heuer aquaracer ceramic.
Both are quite similar priced but Ball seems to be better when it comes to the Chronometer and the Size.
Any opinions?

Tag heuer aquaracer ceramic: 2.5k USD
41mm
Calibre 5
Ceramic bezel
500m WR
Automatic Helium Valve

Ball hydrocarbon ceramic 3.2k USD
42mm
ETA 2892 Chronometer
Ceramic bezel
300m WR

I will prefer tag Hever, if u never mind the secondhand value.... Tag Hever aquaracer always preferrably to wear daily....

Both watches will not have a very high resale value.

The TAG Heuer Calibre 5 is actually a Sellita SW200 movement (with TAG Heuer enhancements if you believe the sales brochure), which is a part-to-part copy of the ETA2824-2 movement.

The Ball uses micro Tritium glow lume, but I don't like their overall designs. So, I'd personally prefer the TAG Heuer Aquaracer on my wrist.

I will take Ball for sure. Especially, its EHC preowned piece. I have been hunting Ball EHC for quite sometimes but so far Very very difficult to find them.

I end up with both, but slightly different model.
Ceramic XV reduced for wifey, and newer tag ceramic 300m for myself...

Go for Ball watch. Even Tag win in term of looks, but Ball is more durable.

  • Success. It's a mind game.
The Ball wins with its micro gas tubes, anti-magnetic and shock-resistant properties. Very value-for monies
For the price-equivalent of the Aquaracer, I would rather top-up a little to move towards Tudor Black Bay, a more handsome watch with heritage to speak for.
