needing help in choosing a watch for my dad birthday present,
with budget of rm5k, any suggestions please? thanks

Some criteria please.

Quartz or Automatic?
Sporty or Dress watch?

How familiar are you with watches? Do we need to explain basic concepts (eg: automatic vs hand wind) to you? A bit of background info will help us with your choice.

Around 5k you have plenty of choice .If he's the classic type ,Longines would have been a good choice. If he's a sporty type Ball or Oris sports watches would have been a good choice. just my opinion n greetings to your dad , tony

maybe give us his age indication and whether he is the outdoor/travelling type and what he already own.

im newbie about watches, and about the basic concepts, i think no problem coz wikipedia got all the explanation XD

well, my dad is already 60++ so prefer those with clear dial, it would b better for him..

Mido watches are easily available in Malaysia. Lots of dress watches all within your budget. I am partial to the all-dial design line. Some of them are chronometre certified (tested to stricter time-keeping standards).

just went hunting today and~ end up~ non of the watch under my budget ~ ><
still confuse which to get >< the planet ocean& skyfall was definitely out d~ LOL
