Hi all,

Just wondering, what are you guys using to maintain the "shinnyness" of your watch (i.e. case, bracelet and leather)...

For the case and bracelet, I use Cape Cod Cloths, which I actually bought online and delivered all the way from US (price of delivery more expensive than the product  )

For leather, still wondering which product to use, dare not use any till now.. any suggestions?

I can't remember the name of the wax from Timberland, they have many types, some in bottle, some in tube, I'm using the one in small round tin / can *you imagine yourself, basically you can use the wax on anything, as long as it is leather

some of my older watches, the leather seems "dead"... like colour fading abit, got "wrinkles" and kinda dry...
will it help?

Yes, the wax will moisture up and soften up the leather, then it will protect the leather, maintain it and the leather can last a very long time.

Believe in Timberland when it comes to leather

It might not able to "restore" the faded colour, it was meant to use it for protection / prevention.

But is ok, now you know, next time when you have any new leather products, remember to use it.

isit safe for me to use it on my brand new watch as well?

Yes, you can but depends on what kind of leather you are talking about.

You may use it on those without a layer of protective coat *you get what I mean? those real leather feel.

If the leather already has a layer of protective coat *something like those LV monogram wallet which the leather feel is very hard and doesn't feel like the "real" leather kind of feel, then that one cannot be used.

Use vaseline, give it a good rub then wipe the grease off with dry towel. Vaseline, good on skin, dead or living.

Vaseline? D thing that is good for cracked lips? Lol

If you are not sure , use car leather cleaner n conditioner. After buffing off, it leaves the leather smell n a matte finish look..

Car leather? yea, I also had that thought.. Just dare not try..

I use something called Cape Cod Cloths.. I have no idea where to get it in Malaysia, as I bought online from US...

The cloths come with solution in it? Meaning we can use it to polish straightaway? But how do you get these to reach the small sections/holes in the steel bracelet? How shiny is it after polishing with it?

Yea, it comes with some solutions in the cloths, so straight use the cloth to wipe the metal part..
for those small and hard places, like to lug, I use my fingers (cant figure out any other better way).. make sure no long finger nails though..

does the cloth break easily? if not you can use a small and sharp stick like a those use for tweaking the sunglasses and gently wrap the cloth over the stick and reach those small places..

very good suggestion, will try it... The cloth is kinda thick.. not that easy to tear.. but, if with sharp objects, not sure yet.. lol

I used sand paper for my bracelets, of course only for the brushed section, as for polished section, i just leave it, wait until the service and request for polish then everything will be back as new
