hanz,
Yes, I've got to try out diff positions for every mechanical watch and they are mostly different in order to get the most accurate rate.
Face up is usually fastest. On the crown is usually slowest, on the 9pm side is in between but all depends on where the movement is rotated in the case.
The GS Spring Drive is however not affected at all in whichever position, as well as at different temperature and even when subjected to a hard shock like a very hard jolt to the wrist.
I've tried jolting my wrists very hard when I used to wear my Omegas including the Co-Axials to test its stability.
I noticed that the accuracy was indeed knocked off its regualr rate and time is off by a few seconds several hours later.
Wow you got a good copy of the Monster Dracula.... which was the best position to leave it overnight? Thanks...
ck77,
When I took the picture I had just got the watch and had not set the day or date yet..
I think only the time was set....
Well this is a very basic Seiko movement, only that it now hacks and is hand windable. PR is only 50 hrs.
The day/date changeover is also not impressive.
I buy these Seiko Monster or Military solely for backpack travels to dodgy places where day/date is useful. Its only < RM 700
