The new Rolex Cerachrome Ceramic Bezel

Hi guys,
Not sure how many members here own a Rolex Sports model with the new Cerachrome bezel, but for those who do have one, there's an interesting report on another forum about a very bad experience with the durability of the Cerachrome disc on an SS GMT model. After a violent contact with a bunch of keys swung by a 13 year old girl, the hi tech cerachrome bezel actually chipped off. You have to see the pics to believe it.

While the experience of this particular watch may not be common at all, those of you who own one of these new models may want to be extra careful about letting the ceramic bezel come into physical contact with anything sharp and hard. Space age ceramic may be hard and scratch proof but like all ceramic material (think China plates or ceramic tiles) it is also brittle.

ceramic is hard... but it is breakable...
steel is not hard.... but not easy to break... u can bent it.... and easy to get a ding or dent when hit by harder material....
conventional bezel use very light weight aluminum... problem is painted color will fade and its easy to get scratch but it wont break!

i believe damasko made a better bezel on its dc 66 & 67 !
coated diamond powder on its (ice hardened? wasnt sure) steel....
but at least it wont break and the diamond powder coated surface scratch free!

You can always trust the Germans to come up with a better engineered solution.
I wish Damasko would be able to ramp up their production. Does it still take forever for them to deliver a watch?
When's your order coming in from them?

i dont think they will deliver that soon...
i been chasing them for xmas.... till the girl asked me just wait for her email....
so still waiting......
