Hi, sooncheng1990,

I agree with CK, a G-Shock will be ideal for your needs. They are not really that cheap these days either. Otherwise you may consider a Seiko or Luminox or if you have more $$$ to splash a Tissot T-Touch. From your ID handle, you must be pretty young, so I guess you will not find Oris too appealing.

Otherwise, you may also consider asking for advice from this bunch, a policeman, army fellow, red indian tracker, all the outdoor type for advice on what they wear......

Don't know how you can contact them, but you may just call the YMCA (their favourite hangout place).

best regards,
Enkidu

@ CK - thanx but I already own a few Gshocks. Any other recommendations?

@ Enkidu - Have Gshocks oready, Seikos are not my taste, I think Luminox not worth the money. I have read bad reviews about the T-Touch. Dunno who the Village People are. What talk you?? ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

You should look over the products of these two US watch manufacturer. They make watches for the outdoors men and from what I read in other forums, they are very good watches. They are MKII and KOBOLD. I believe KOBOLD watches are also the preferred choices of special forces personnel like Navy Seals. Both companies have facilities where you can buy their watches online.

Take a look.

What??? You don't know the Village People? Mana boleh? Bet they will also recommend a few retro outdoor watches to you, like the Seiko 6105 divers, the 6138 and 6139 chronos, and don't forget the awesome 6159 Automatic Tuna (RM 10K should be right to get a good piece!!!).

This one more like 20k, but might be what you are looking for:

Or an Omega is about 10k and rugged. Especially the Seamaster series. The non-bond Seamasters with sword hands look more rugged and may suit you too. 2nd hand definitely less than 10k. :)

I too would recommend an Explorer 2 although you would need to UP your budget a little bit. A prince from the UK wears one in the army ...

do you need the function?

like altitude etc etc? if yeah then go for Sunto.

If you just want a sporty watch. SINN U1 seems good. just took a look at one just now. it's 6000 plus. but i believe you can get more discount.

actually that is how "some" rich people do it.

i think pro-trek series / titanium is not bad ... (something between a g-shock and Suunto crossover)
not too cheap not too expensive, durable and you won't cry if damaged.

unless, digital/quartz is something that you are not looking at ...
