My grail watch ... finally in my hands.
« on: December 19, 2009, 10:37:51 AM »
Some of you may be surprised that my grail watch is actually just a plain old Seiko. I've been looking around for this piece for a while. Finally found it in Bangkok. And it came with a good discount. Couldn't believe my luck.
Here it is the Master Shop Edition SGBM001. Thanks for looking:

Thanks guys. As I understand it, in Japan the Master shop watches can only be found in selected Master Shop outlets.

The booth also carry a few spring drive models.
After discount the price for the SBGM001 is indeed lower than that listed on SeiyaJapan.

Danny - good for you, I understand what's a holy grail of a watch meant to an individual......

Say, how long have you been hunting for it...?

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Hi Alice, CKNg515, CK77, David, Fred, James,  johnjoux,
Thanks for the kind words.

Say, how long have you been hunting for it...?
Hi David,
I had been yearning for this piece ever since I saw one on my Japanese colleagues wrist about 2 years ago. I was infected badly at that time.

Suddenly I was infected by Japanese virus.. ;D
Like mr Yong said, don't think there's a cure for the GS virus. Serial acquisition can only alleviate the yearning but it will stay with you for life.  :D

Look great on u, Danny !

Thanks Alvin,
The mini GTG was actually in Penang. I made a short trip there and was lucky enough to have met up with Fred, CKNg515 and CK77.

Hi ex001,
Better not wait for my review. Here's a very good review of the SBGM001 from a HK collector.
Also here's another resource which allows a peek into the heart of the watch.
Enjoy.
