My journey so far
« on: July 26, 2012, 08:49:18 PM »
My Rolex journey began with Explorer I, I am the second owner of this particular Explorer I. My impression is that it’s small and suitable for me. Rolex simplicity at its best.

Then I realised I can’t live without bezel, therefore so I traded in Exp for 2001 Submariner. Again just like the Explorer it’s the really simple in design and it serves its purpose as dive watch very well. I really love the clean dial design and of cause the bezel which like I told some you, it makes the watch more purposeful. Another thing to note is the case is considered thin when you compared other watches that had the same WR rating which usually are super-duper thick and fat. For example MM300 (nothing in against this watch, I just taking it as an example)

As I am about to stop collecting (for time being as I focus on other matter) watches I got into this. My usual dealer gave me good deal when I wanted to trade in my Submariner as compensation as he (actually his worker) had stuff up some paperwork for my Submariner which made me call him all the way from KL complaining to him about it. He literally take in my Sub at 90% of the price I paid for my Sub and I just need to top up abit cash to get hold of this.

Actually this is the watch I am after all the while. It’s a F series SD My first impression is that the watch packed a punch while it is still wearable for almost everyone (that is if u can find ways to take out the permanent links which I did). Not like many watches these days that are much more thicker than this but functionally does not come close to this. It maybe thick for some but I am used to this as my previous watches are quite thick. All I can say is I like this watch very much and this is for sure going to be in my collection for many years to come.

With this I could truly tell myself that I can stop collecting for the time being while I focus on something else more important. For sure, its one hell of a journey I being tru and I enjoyed it every second.

I think the SD fit your wrist just perfectly . I have a dssd it always slips down the 12 position of my wrist, due to its weight..

Perhaps you should wear the watch more tighter? All my watches are adjusted such way that it is tight on my wrist but still leave a little bit room to move around. I dont like to wear watches that move around on my wrist alot. Having a boxy wrist shape helps me alot in preventing watch move around too. ;D

Abel.

That was a fast journey ....from Exp 1 > Sub > SD...I believe your evolution is faster than many our us here.

I have gone through your stage and I know the feeling. Eventually. I stopped at rollie, at least for now....

I foresee the journey is a long one for you, once you have come into the real concrete world...and I am sure there are more holy grail just waiting for you.

Nevertheless, congrats to your latest acquisition and wear it with pride and proper.

Interesting progression, which I suspect may not end with the SD. Congrats and wear it with good health and wealth.

The explorer 3,6,9 is very nice watch, im of the opinion. Very simple and very beautiful.

The sub, needless to say is an instant classic and icon

But the Seadweller is a Legendary watch im of the opinion. Its a legend! Its a keeper!

Here you go, sorry for my slowness

one permanent one each side is removed with the magic tool, one of the permanent link is replaced with a removable link in order the fit onto the microadjuster.

Claps are noticably longer than the Exp I clasp

AP ROO cant fit me, the bracelet or strap is too long for me. Don't think its good idea to punch the hole on on pricy strap.

Ur journey towards ap ro is closer...

Depends bro, taste changes over time.  :-\

AP RO 41 mm is hanging over my wrist, look ugly. Unless i go for the 37mm AP RO that just released this year  :o
