My new watches
« on: July 14, 2012, 08:31:25 PM »
In just one week I took the plunge and bought two watches - a BALL Fireman II and an ORIS Oscar Peterson Limited Edition. These two are the first watches I ever own that cost more than 2K. I think I am getting addicted. Started with two SEIKO Kinetic (one was stolen from me), then progressed to two TISSOTS and now these. The latest TISSOT is only about two months old. I really must pull the handbrakes or I will be eating roti canai for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  :Blue:

Still struggling to upload the pictures.  :o Maybe later.

You are right bro. Everyday I am surfing the net admiring watches. I would love to own an OMEGA Planet Ocean Seamaster 45.5mm Calibre 8500 watch but I cannot bear to part with almost 18K to own one. Then there is the IWC Portuguese series. Ayyyyeeee!!! So many beautiful watches and "Money not enough".

My BALL Fireman II

My ORIS Oscar Peterson Limited Edition. Keeping this in the box for moment. Waiting for the right occasion to wear it.

The problem with me is once I start on a new hobby I find it very hard to slow or stop the momentum. It started with photographic equipments a decade ago, then Thai Buddhist amulets, followed by zisha teapots and now watches. Running low on cash so I am pulling the handbrakes tight this time. Not sure how long it will hold though. I have my sights on an IWC Portuguese handwound and boy, do they cost a lot of money. For the moment I have downloaded only high res pics to quench the thirst.

Actually I was eyeing the same watch but the one with the grey bezel - 232.30.46.21.01.001, and the latest 8500 calibre movement. I went to the OMEGA boutique in Pavillion KL to try it out. I simply fell in love with it but could not bear parting with 18K for a watch that I will hardly wear. Did more research and decided to pick up the BALL and ORIS. After the intense search through the net for watches I would love to own I am now torn between the IWC Portuguese handwound and the Planet Ocean. Anyway, I leave the hard decision for the day when I have the spare cash to buy either one.

More pictures of my BALL.

Nice picture, you capture those with your DSLR? I think so. I want to take the same kind of picture but I'm to noob to do that...

Sorry to disappoint you but I took the pictures with a handphone. My HTC Sensation XE. Placed the watch on the balcony wall edge and shot away using the close up mode. Then I bluetooth the pics into my laptop and uploaded it from there.

OK. Just managed to capture some pictures of the ORIS Oscar Peterson Limited Edition watch. The plastic seals are still there as I have not removed them. Here they are.
