Hi,

I am kind of confused, is that all PO has LM? I viewed through the Omega website, only 1 piece, the Blue one stated LM in the highlights.

Only 2 liquidmetal models that I know of so far....
The blue one running on caliber 8500 and an older black liquidmetal limited edition running on caliber 2500.
The others sports ceramic bezels...

as far as i know, there are only 2 models with liquid metal. The PO limited edition, with LM on bezel and dial, with 2500D movement. limited to less than 2000 watches. The other is the blue one with titanium. But liquid metal only on applied markers and hands. Based on new 8500 movement

As far as I know, yup... liquidmetal is for the bezel only...
Maybe sifus here can provide some enlightenment or perhaps links to some additional info?

yes.. the LM is only for bezel..
I posted a q in one of the Omega LM threads on why it cannot be extended to the case and bracelet whether it was cost, technical challenges in doing so or pure economic reasons as the watch would never need aesthetic re-furbishment perpetually

So, from the link, I can read that Liquidmetal is for the bezel... Ceramic dial.
Do not confuse ceramic and Liquidmetal as both are different.

Liquidmetal on applied markers and hands? I would love more info on that if it is indeed a fact.
Or did I read the post wrong?

Nope, I don't think the liquidmetal is used on the applied markers and hands, only the bezel.

New material to improve on the robustness of the bezel of these watches. Basically the older aluminium bezels were prone to fading, scratching, breaking etc and long term usage by divers or people who actually use the watches as the tool watches that they are, were not guaranteed. So, the ceramic bezel came about, the lm bezel came about. The sapphire crystal covered bezel came about.

You can get pretty technical about lm and it's qualities and it's manufacturing process. But do you want to go there?

I think, I am done on that...

Sigh...then there will be no more of those faded bezel on the sport model on the current ceramics rollies. Now those faded bezel rollies of the yesteryears fetched $$ on the current market.

On the other hand, in the future.. we may get to see some run down cases on an omega PO with pristine looking lm bezel.

In one of the Omega Liquid Metal threads, I had asked the same thing...
Why is it they do not use LM for the entire watch including case, bracelet

Is it the technology that prevents the material from being used to form the whole case/bracelet? Is it because of very high cost? Or are they concerned that the watch will always look new and never need any polishing or replacement..
Unfortunately there are too few ceramic watches on the market and the few i.e. Chanel, Ralph Lauren, Rado do not appeal to me from a movement, design and finishing point of view...
