which model were you looking at?

Think the "sports-dress" watch is not represented in my collection and I love the look of the Leman models.

So need some expert opinions and eye.

This is the one I love alot. The leman is nice but the 50 fathoms is in a league of its own. Do you know it's actually Blancpain that 1st introduce a diving watch not Rolex!

but the size is the problem. It looks bad on me :-\

I had the opportunity to handle the Blancpain FF (normal, black and vanilla) and it's offsprings the LE models (Tribute to FF and Tribute to FF Aqua Lung). I have to say that the build quality is very very good and the watch does ooze quality. But it is not for me. If I have to choose, I would get the Tribute to FF Aqua Lung. I think it is the 'nicest' among the FF offerings. Personally I would go for the TR1000 (by MKII), but that could be a long, long wait. In the mean time, this will do the job.

As for terrenceterrence question on the Leman collection, I did not try them out, so I cannot give my opinion.

Was it not Omega with the Marine the first?

Nah ... that thing didn't work properly. The FF form the 50s and 60s are mostly military watch 1st then the civilian comes later. They ar use as tool for the military. The Omega Marine didn't make it very far (or deep)  :-[

I almost forgot about the MKII TR1000. Do you have any news?

BTW I think the tributse kinda miss the point about the vintage. They are super shiny and almost too dressy to be in the spirit of the original FF.

I would opt for the modern plain vanilla FF. It's just that the watch looks too comical on my wrist.

Funny huh? I can wear the PAM64 but not a modern FF

Regards

Suppose to be more tr1000 coming this year, but I would not hold my breath, what with the Pan Am and SM 300 project, the on going Kingston delivery and new Stingray. I understand even the first 15 have not been completed in delivery.

The marketing people are genius back then when they introduce that slogan  :D

The same genius is now in Hublot.

Saw a Leman flyback and need some advice and opinions. Thanks in advance  :)

Hello terrenceterrence.

I have the Fifty Fathoms Air Command which has the same F185 Evolution movement as the Leman Flyback. It is quite a reliable movement and I have not had any problems with it. Hardly have any opportunity to use the flyback function though.

I would suggest you get the Leman on the X-71 bracelet because it is so well made, it feels like "liquid steel" on your wrist.

My 2 cents. Hope it helps. Regards.

  thanks

Looking at a Leman 2100 military dial in X71 now. The trilogy collection is another that really gets my heart fluttering.

Which model would u think is the quentessential "Leman Model"? The flyback, moonphase, aqualung, Day/night? All looks yummy. Ur opinion on a first foray into the brand?

You have the coolest collection. Would love to see the extent of it

How's the Pro One?

Hello terrenceterrence,

The 2100 military dial is simple and sporty. I really like the military style numbers. What size wrist do you have? This watch is only 37.5mm in diameter.

It does have the hundred hours movement like the Fifty Fathoms and is buttery smooth when wound.

What about the Aqua Lung Big Date? 40mm and very sporty on rubber.

The Leman that I am looking forward to will be the Alarm GMT/X-71 in titanium . It is a very beautiful watch in person. The movement, developed together with Breguet is beautifully finished and even the alarm is self winding.

I do agree the Trilogy series is more iconic and definitely worth considering when buying into Blancpain the first time.

The Pro One with its LUC micro rotor movement is a must have.

Regards

 thanks

the size and simple style is exactly what I was looking for.

The sports/dress watch is still unrepresented in my collection. that is why I am seriously looking at the LUC Sport 2000 and Leman 2100-1130M. Sort of like a poor man's Aquanaut if you wanna put it

Would love to get my hand on the Orange Pro One but the only thing that is putting me off is the solid caseback. That beauty underneath should be on show and not hidden.

Thanks for the feedback
