Zero is hero
but
210 is Zen

The device for protecting the crown, whilst a definite panerai thing, is a later version.
Only my opinion mind you and as a left hand person, without wanting to own a destro, the Radiomir models don't dig into the wrist.

But above all, whatever makes your heart beat faster and your wallet thinner, go for it!

The more I read about the post, the more I question my decision. Hahaha...
It seems that most of you all opt for the 000 model huh?
Alas, 000 is not available, I made off with the 005 model. I wanted to believe it's still a viable choice.
I haven't own any manual winding watch before, so this will be a good time to see whether I "mind" the daily winding :)
Personally, I actually don't like the logo on PAM000, it doesn't balance with the top part bearing the Luminor wording and the bottom part with Panerai and Logo. PAM005 looks more balanced, as there're 2 lines on top, and 2 lines (well, 1 line and 1 logo) at the bottom.
Yes, I'm trying to convince myself it's a correct decision :)

Anyway thanks for the advice guys. Really appreciate it.

i think the 1st question to ask ur self is this - radiomir or luminor??...

i have had 2 luminors n sold them...just didnt sing to me no matter how much i tried to love them...now i have a 292 n its like "damn!!...i should have bought this in the 1st place and saved quite a bit on the depreciation from the 2 luminors i sold off"

so take some time n feel your heart....after all, u r buying the pam for urself n no one else....

just my 2 cents...cheers

Well, whatever model you are getting, try to stick with 44mm at least and skip 40mm. also, generally stick with black face and not white. 40mm and white one is less popular. you may find it difficult to sell later.
I am broke but I am happy...

005 is a good decision, better than the 000 for the same reasons you mention.
Wear it in good health.

My first PAM was a 177.
Loved the look, the feel of the Ti case, but the crown protector didn't sit well with me, being a left handed person.
Had no trouble selling it, a friend bought it from me the minute I mentioned I was thinking of selling.

Now, I have two Radiomirs, a 287 ad a 210. Both different in their own way and I really like them both. Then, as always happens, one of my most desired PAMS was for sale.
What to do? Well, I bought the grail, a 141.
So sadly, I will sell the 287, which is a shame, as it sits so well on the wrist and doesn't feel as heavy as any of the auto Luminors. I'm a Radiomir man I guess.

You have to to think like this......  ;D

There's no such thing as 1 or even 2 Panerai. Once you start you'll end up with at least 3 or a dozen.  :o

Do you want your collection to look like you have 80% small seconds model? (Luminor Marina) Because most Luminor comes with small seconds where only a few are without. The logo (PAM 000), The PreA (PAM 002, 009) and the PAM 210 (2 lines) variety that house in Luminor case.

Eventually you will want a base logo (PAM 000) unless you go PreV. I would be cautious about not trying to sell my watch too often because 90% of the time is taking a loss unless it's a super rare watch but we're not taking about that.

You should ask about the owner who do own both the PAM 000 and the PAM 005 and ask them in the end which one do you keep. The answer would surprise you.

If you can stay just with 2 panerai

A PAM 000 and PAM 210 would be my choice. I didn't do it because I found out I can't stay with 2.

I need four. LOL

A Sub: PAM 64 aka La Bomba

A Mare Nostrum: 5218-301/A

A Radiomir: PAM 232 still hunting

A Lumonor: PAM 36

See what I mean when I say there no such thing is only 1 Panerai  ;)

Tyler

Thanks for sharing guys, really appreciate your thoughts, especially Godzillaz for some really cool pics.
I thought I'll be happy with my PAM005 (which I still am) but it's taking me a long time to adjust to a dateless version. I'm too used to looking at watch for the date.
Sigh... in a couple of years I may end up getting my original goal, which is the PAM104.
Which means I have 2 years to convince my wife to love PAM, so she can occasionally wear my 005  :Laughing_on_floor:

Finally ! got my first pam during a trip to Singapore 2 days ago.... already booked PAM 112 from [AD name removed - Forum Mod] since 3 weeks ago and they said cannot hold it any longer....so no choice , hav to plan my family vacation earlier and retrieve it. on that day , just simply ask them whether they have pam 111 or not .surprisingly they said they just received 1 unit 1 day ago and willing to let me choose between them . At the end just fix to my old choice since i found that the dial of 112 looks more simple and nice :) .   Quite satisfied with the price since i can get [No mention of discount allowed - Forum Mod] discount from list price + 7% GST refund :p

I have a feeling if you look at the pictures, the AD he bought from must be the one who gave him that pouch?? Congrats on your acquisition and do enjoy it.

My 2 cents - determine which u prefer first, luminor or radiomir? Then look at all the other details the other bros here have shared with u. Happy hunting
