Tag F1 is not really my kind of watch, but hey, it's entirely up to you as you're going to be the one wearing it. Keep you options open though, you'll never know.

I have worn the Tag Formula 1 first gen quartz entry level watch some time ago. The quality was not too good as the rubber guide beteen the crown peeled off. It looked bad when you wear it.

I have another Tag Grand Carrera calibre 6. The quality is much better but it was pricy tag of its brand name.

In short, don't go entry level Tag Heuer F1 with 3K budget. You can choose other brand like ORIS formula series, BALL etc.
Like one of our bro mentioned, spare more budget and go for a better watch sych as pre owned speedmaster, carrera chrono, ....

I understand also this is kind of the personal taste and hard to pick for other brand name unless you have no other choice.

very personal opinion, tag is just too commercialise and mass produced. U will be better off to save a bit more to get a omega or rolie if you want 'more recognition'. But if u want a reliable swiss watches, there are plenty of brands like tissot, oris, epos, frederick c, raymond weil, hamilton, mido, ball, luminox etc to consider. But again, thats just me. I just dont quite like tag.
