depend on your budget, whats the max you can pour out? if you have a watch u always dream of, start saving for it now it wont be any late, at least an automatic watch, unless u prefer a quartz

many swiss brand have below 3k watch, such Ball, Oris, Tissot and etc..

true, i prefer 100% SEIKO rather than wearing those TAG outside but SEIKO parts inside. Another Swiss Made watch below 3K is Davosa.

Please don't stereotype all Tag Heuer movements are using Seiko's.
The only movement derived from Seiko is caliber 1887, where Tag Heuer has outright purchased the IP rights from the Japanese.
With all the parts are made in Switzerland, it is qualify as Swiss made.
But to declare to the world that the caliber 1887 is an in-house movement from Tag Heuer, this is misleading to the public.

I personally worn a tag heuer carrera chronograph as daily wear few years back. I do  think the quality is good though. Never encounter any problem before .

Why not go for pre own carrera if u add 2k more to 5k ?

alot of new n fresh member was attrack and mislead by the brand. so they always TAG TAG TAG, if rm3k is your max budget then i will also prefer to get a seiko, at least all fully made by a brand. hahaha.

if you consider a preown, then omega speedmaster is a good option can consider.

I own a Tag grand carrera, I believe that if you consider the purchase value and the resell value, big brands such as Rolex is the outright winner. But looking at the quality of Tag against other brands at the same price tag, i personally prefer tag over others.

I can't really compare material as they're mostly stainless steel and i don't have the technical spec sheet of what stainless steel they use, the finishing is brilliant, the design as well, compared to IWC portofino at that price range (approximately 17k), I'll prefer Tag, because i myself have compared it on the spot before. Accuracy and warranty wise i have no idea, but since its chronograph, i believe the difference will be microscopic.

St steel range from no standard light feel one to industrial grade like 304 to 316 n 904
Titanium also have its grade....
They are company who produce or using newer and superior st steel, with surface or whole steel hardened...
But if all the above make no different to u
N u like tag design n think they hv better finish product then go get it...
Afterall in Malaysia, wearing a tag giv u a status! Jus bit lower than rolek!

how about Tissot ? the T-Touch range is sporty looking and comes in titanium, the accuracy is less than 10sec a month (once read it somewhere) ;D  or the motor GP chrono which looks good IMHO

just my opinion  more importantly choose the watch which makes you smile even in the sleep
