Red army? I think Danny can give his point of view since he was their regular ;)

Personally, I found the people there are friendly ;) I haven't buy anything from them yet because I still prefer Swiss made wathes ;)

They now carry Lips and I almost getting one and I didn't because I still prefer automatic watches ;)

Yup, sometime back, we members had a small gtg at the tropicana and of course we could not have missed the RA, All mechancial time pc, reasonally priced and attractive. They have a good range of quality straps, time movers and whatnots. Almost bought a strap...interesting place to visit......

DC
I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

yeap... david, scott, magpie, chiewata..... we all been there 2 - 3 times...
their customer service is top ! all sales are very friendly.... they will never look u down.... probably they are exploring new customer...
add them in your facebook if u want to hv updates....

they started selling russian made watches....   thats why the shop call red army!
now they do carry french brand like lip, german brand like shaumburg/nauticfish in usa
LIP is renowned brand for its design, the DNA is very strong... just like alain s
their black case black dial blend with yellow blue red crown and chrono pushers are signatured! u can recognised it from 200m distance!
mostly are fitted with quartz movement... or else, alot of sifu here will buy and keep already!

like it or not, it is a cult watch, it has it follower... i certainly like it... especially the chrono above...
more lip design

shaumburg was german made with eta movement watch! they very famous with their divers watch case...
plenty of copycat for its 1000m divers..... (read watchuseek, plenty of discussion n argument for this after Lo****, a hk watch brand who own his factory in china, custom made the dial, hands, crown.... on this case for customer... )
but because of the design is good, all selling quite well...
check out brand like deep blue, benarus barracuda.......... all selling cheaper than shaumburg ! some fitted with miyolta movement, so for a rm1k plus u can hv a 1000m automatic divers!
but pls do not forget enzo mechana, its em001, sub hatch, em050 ..... same case but with enzo design... its perfect ! alot of fan..... top service!
fitted with engraved swiss eta and made in swiss... (because it is assembled in swiss by swiss watchmaker and more than 50% value of the watch parts are swiss made ) so the quality is different!

russian brand... poljot, buran, vostok, aviator.... are all famous brand.... reliability is proven.... and with new tech/ high precision cutting machine...
even to make a tourbillon also not a problem...
but movement finishing is not up to swiss and high end german std for sure...
but for its price.... no complaint ! now some new russian watches are also fitted with swiss eta !

surf around the net... alot of discussion !

end of the day is what u want and whether u  like the design or not !

I have bought several watches from Red Army. As attested by fellow forumers, the staff are friendly and willing to help.

In terms of Russian watches, all I can say is that the Russians provide an affordable way to step into mechanical watch collecting. Don't expect too much because accuracy and finishing cannot be compared to Swiss watches. Quality is so-so and nothing great to shout about. All in all, for a RM1k+ watch, there is nothing much to complain about considering that I am using the Russian as a tool watches. Nevertheless, that was probably my last foray into Russian watches as nothing beats a Swiss.

I have also bought straps from them. Nothing great about the quality. Let's simply say that I have seen better. Possibly, their strategy is to provide affordable watches and straps to budding collectors. As for me, I will go back to sourcing straps from well known internet strap makers or through my AD contacts.

Hi Lola,
I have bought a few watches from Red Army in the past. Generally I'm more fascinated by the German brand Schaumburg rather than the Russian brands. You can refer to some of the reviews that I posted here before for more info.

Review of the Schaumburg Gnomonik

Review of the Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 hand wind chronograph

Pics of the Schaumburg Auf/Ab Gnomonik Single Handed Watch

Junkers 6660-1 Iron Annie JU52 (featuring eta valgranges a07.161)

Hi ! Comrades

Many thanks for the feedback and reply on Red Army.
No doubt I totally agree that the customer service was at the best level.
Only was in the doubt on the quality and performance of the watches.

many thanks ya

chinese character lah....

ii just tried to say do not doubt the russian & german watch quality....
quality is ok... just movement finishing not done!

the junkers posted by danny is fitted with valgrance movement... which is eta higher end movement...
any swiss brand will command for more than rm8k + for this... its better finish...

surely better than o**s who just paint the movement rotor to red!

German watches are good in its quality. The finest being Lange, GO and Chronoswiss.

I am not impressed with the Russians though. With that kind of 1k+ pricing, I am not complaining.  :)
