Question Regarding PAMs
« on: November 03, 2009, 01:39:25 PM »
Why are there more (new) PAMs at the grey dealers than there are at the ADs? Or is it just my timing when I visit these places?

ADs wait for stock to come.... grey go out to find all around the world... some more team up with AD's sales staff....

PAM's production is limited. Coupled with the high demand in the collectors' market that is why the gray market dealer flourished.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I've just a couple more questions.

From what I hear, one has to put their name down on the waiting list when buying from an AD. Is this common and how long does one have to wait for a watch?

Also, if I buy from grey dealer, I would assume I have to pay a premium. How much is this premium usually? And would Richemont still work on my watch within the warranty period?

Thanks for the info. Does Richemont honour warranty of watches bought from grey dealers?

As long as your watch come with a valid warranty card, Richemont will honour the warranty even if you are not buying from local dealer...
If you got it from grey dealer, most of the time, the dealer stamp will not be a local AD stamp but some where else...the 233 i got is having Neuchâtel, Switzerland stamp.. I got it from a local grey dealer back in 2007.. i'm sure you'll know which shop i'm referring to ;)

Cheers!
