Word is dealers will get it at around May or June.
And the bracelet is different from Pelagos.

This is a remake of a true vintage watch for all the vintage watch lovers. I have got my name on the waiting list already!

For those of you who are interested in the Tudor Heritage Black Bay.  You can use the following link to see the watch in HD. Enjoy...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juxb5dCFUiw

Or search in Youtube:  "Basel 2012: Los modelos de Tudor "

Also shown in the video is the Pelagos Black Bay which was also introduced during SIHH 2012.  It is a pretty cool, young and nice looking watch too.

No it is not.

The true vintage look like this

The only similarities is the dial. The rest is different.

BTW the snowflakes hand comes some 15 years later in a total different model.

This is technically a new watch. I won't even consider it as a heritage model.

I don't see how it can call it a remake if it doesn't follow the original design. Maybe reinterpretation is a better word for this.

IMHO the Pelagos is a better watch than this. Great update of the original snowflake.

Tyler

Well, new watch, old watch, reinterpreted watch, remake etc etc...it doesn't really matter to me, because it's still a nice looking fellow for all I can see. I am not sure if the usual AD whom I patronise will take an order now because I am really keen to get this piece for christmas this year. Also glad to read that not everyone likes this piece, which means there will not be a big rush for this piece and hopefully  :Praying: :Praying: there may be lesser chance the ADs will mark up the price of this piece at some unreasonable premium!!!

@Enkidu

My thoughts exactly.
Since we like the watch, even better if not alot of ppl like it.
Might avoid paying premium and even better, can get at a decent discount.

Seems like the snowflake reissue is gaining momentum.
Leaked pics looked legit.
And yes, i will be in the market for one if it is priced right.
Cool red bezel and accents near the crown.
41mm case size...

Black Bay is a nice looking watch by Tudor. It won the Best Design Watch 2012 in magazine.
The bracelet version is much better.

For me, the design is almost perfect. But I can't give it 10/10 because of:
1. The back is too flat compare to Tudor Pelagos and Rolex watches which give an impressive floating effect.
Eventhough the lug and the side is thick, but because of the flatness make the whole watch only 1cm thick.
2. ETA2824 is too common.

there is a well known post by Archer, who says the modified eta-2824 in the black bay is a step backwards.

Quote
The Tudor 2824-2's start as Top grade, so they have all the parts that the Chronometer grade movements do, without the actual testing being done. The shock system is then changed from Incabloc to Kif, and they remove the ETACHRON system, and implement a more traditional stud on the balance spring, and traditional regulator pins.

For me as a watchmaker who services these movements, removing the ETACHRON is not an advancement, but a step backwards. Adjusting the centering of the balance spring, the centering of the outer coil through the regulating pins, and setting the spacing of the regulating pins is so much easier with the ETACHRON system, it really makes no technical sense (in my opinion) to remove this system. There's no doubt that a watch can be adjusted just as well using the traditional systems, but is it far less time consuming with the ETACHRON system. I suspect the Rolex does this because they want to make it their own, and not for any technical reason.
