Looking for a quartz watch
« on: January 11, 2012, 02:38:45 PM »
Am looking for a diver/dress-styled quartz watch at around RM2-3k but have no idea what brands or models to think of. Am only used to mechanical watches so am not too well-versed in quartz watches. It MUST have the following requirements;
1. It comes with a leather strap. No bracelets.
2. 42mm and above
3. WR of at least 100m
4. Not from a designer brand i.e Gucci, Ellesee, Guess, Burberry etc etc...I prefer a watch brand
5. Analog style
6. Black dial

Any ideas?

I got my Citizen Eco-drive, no regret  ;D. No need to adjust after that, not even the date  :thumbsup: daily beater

does it come with a leather strap? Am looking for one that comes in a leather strap. The last Citizen i had came with the polyurethane strap if i am not mistaken. Am not too keen on upmarket straps.

not sure if your requirement is purchase from local AD but if you want something different, can consider Christopher Ward. I don't own one but have read some positive reviews about them.  There are some owners in the lowyat forum watch thread, so you can ask their opinion.

Try Mont Blanc Star XXL?

Quartz, black dail, good pedigree and probably can be had for RM3k+

Dress watch instead of diver and it is only 40mm though

Not sure about the leather strap, but if I am not mistaken, their dressing watches only come with leather strap. You can check out their web site  :Cheers:

bro G,

how about this one? but it is not quartz. I just saw it at LOT 10, the price should be within your budget.

I would recommend high end Citizen (like PROMASTER SKY PMV65-2271 Perfex Multi 3000 or E2100) or Seiko quartz watches. I would recommend Citizen Chronomaster but it will likely cost twice of ur budget. Just a thought.

You can easily change the bracelet to leather strap. The challenge is to get a matching strap.

I Know this is a very old topic (Jan 2012) but wish to have any other recommendations for a quartz watch.
My requirement is the same as below except:
1) Dial colour: white or silver
2) preferably swiss made
3) price: RM3k- RM4k

Am looking for a diver/dress-styled quartz watch at around RM2-3k but have no idea what brands or models to think of. Am only used to mechanical watches so am not too well-versed in quartz watches. It MUST have the following requirements;

3. WR of at least 100m
4. Not from a designer brand i.e Gucci, Ellesee, Guess, Burberry etc etc...I prefer a watch brand
5. Analog style
6. Black dial

Any ideas?

Maurice Lacroix Eliros.
Just released back in Basel2016. Quartz watch which suits all your criteria with very elegant and dressy design. As far as I know not many watch shops have this yet.. Saw it in a watch shop in Atria mall before

Pray do tell me that there are other fans for Mondaine Stop2Go. I can't be the only one who marvels at it. And for those whom share my liking for it- which dial would you go for : classic white or modern black?
