I am a big fan of their watches...

What about the grinding noise when the rotor turns. Can even feel the vibrations.

Thats normal.

Yes, that is the usual reply world wide and will probably not affect the watch performance
but it is still crude engineering n design which I am sure surprised many first time buyer.

I get the grinding noise when I shake the watch, and that seems pretty normal. It's probably due to the friction with the anti-magnetic case.

But I've never felt any vibrations - if there's any I can't be sure - maybe it's too small.

If you've owned an ETA 2836-2 based movement (such as the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2500), you'll notice that winding the Damasko is not that smooth, sounds like a heavy friction between the gears during winding. Then again this is perfectly normal.

All in all it's a tough watch and keeps perfect time.

I have another swiss watch (Ball) with the exact same movement and also antimagnetic. You are right
about the antimagnetic disc making the noise bcos movements are precision made. In bed in dead
silence holding both watches and shaking them you can really hear the difference. Some have
suggested it is an easy fix(make the disc fit better). Dunno about the latest models.

How does one make the disc "fit better"?

I am very curious to find out.

How does one make the disc "fit better"?

I am very curious to find out.

I don't mean the watch owner fix it. I meant the manufacturer. These guys can explain it better.

"I can hear the rotor spin when i put it near my ear and thats fine.
But a lot of times when i move my wrist around normally i hear sort of a metal hitting sound. Sorta like  a "click" sound, sounds like metal hitting metal and not the rotor spinning.
Cant really think of anything else besides the inner anti magnetic layer being loose?

How is that particular part assembled inside the case?

Anyone having the same problem?"

"My rotor is also quite loud. Mine almost sounds as if the thin movement cover (not the actual caseback, but the thin anti magnetic spacer between rotor and caseback) is slightly loose? It sounds as though there isnt a rubber o-ring between the two metal parts and they rub together slightly as you shake the watch side to side? Either that - or perhaps the rotor is slightly rubbing the thin movement cover? Kind of a 'scratching/grinding/rough type of sound' like the rotor is even contacting something metalic & rubbing slowing its motion?"

So something like an o-ring will allow gaps for expansion from changing temp. and prevent metal
to metal rubbing.

something wrong in your statement bro....

if that is the case, meaning the metal cultery set got scratches, not damasko, it scratched by your tough damasko.....

I bought mine (DA36) direct from Damasko. Delivery cost a bomb. A shop in 1Mont Kiara carries them as well, but price is expensive. A cheaper alternative is to buy online from our neighbor down under.
