Parnis watches, homage????
« on: November 01, 2011, 09:13:36 AM »
Recently saw online people selling so called "Parnis" watches, some are very similar to Pam, Rollie, but without logo, only the design similar. Just wondering is it "homage". If so, anyone owe one of this piece?? Can share the build quality and the movement???

Parnis is a homage watch to some of the famous and popular makes like Panerai, Rolex, IWC etc.

Parnis mostly used the Seagull movement especially the ST17.

Is it like replica just without the logo and name? or better grade than replica??? Like AAA type :Laughing_on_floor: cause they do use movement like Unitas, Sellita, but majority will be Seagull.

Replica infringe the copyright. Homage is not, most of them having their own brand names.
Quality wise is varies, what you get is what you paid.
The more you paid, you will get higher quality, i.e. MKII

Homage is better than Replica.
Parnis come with average quality, some is quite good but if you are one of those unlucky chap, u could get quite a lousy one....

I rather buy from company like G**** and a few others  instead of Parnis available in the ebay. At least there is some sense of ownership from seller and they take a bit more effort in keeping up the quality...

Homage is a good way to start having fun with rolex , panerai like watches....BUt definately the original is better...all depend on your pocket....

Parnis price start at around USD 75 at ebay to USD 150...depending on what you are looking for

Good thing about buying from company like G**** they can customized it to your liking....sapphire, DLC, different strap, different movement , etc

I had one from G**** that last perfectly for more than a year till i decide that i have to let it go. Now resting on new owner wrist still like a brand new... Good timing , good construction, etc...happy with it

Cheers
