Seiko GS - Spot the difference

Picked this up from Seiya's blog



COSC! Why would Seiko take that route? Part of the GS appeal IMHO, is beating the Swiss at their own game.
 
To improve their branding in the West?

Did some googling, Seiko GS used to have COSC in the 60s. Now its back. Purely marketing strategy?

I thought that for a period of time, Seiko was banned from chronometer testing because they were too.... accurate?

Even without chronometer i think the GS standard is already more accurate than COSC correct?

My thoughts exactly. Why COSC then? Trying to understand why they are doing this. If this is the future for GS, it has lost some of its appeal for me.

Went to the blog, seems to be only a rendering?

Also since that model is a tribute to one of the first GS models, that era's GS movts were not as accurate as now, hence the need for cosc certificate.

Now with their new 9s models i think the printing is just an eye sore. I say keep it clean and simple.

Also, put a display back on the damn thing and we have a winner!

Model B was the GS 130th Ann SBGW033  that I posted that I was wearing in "What is on your wrist today" thread but I had no camera to take a wrist shot and no photobucket account.

If you decided to post some watches for sale, then it is better you have those account, so picture can be shown. GS is indeed a nice watch  :thumbsup:
