Recommendations for straps
« on: October 02, 2009, 09:40:50 PM »
Hi All,

Forum members seems to be picking up. Nice to see that the watch community is expanding which is great!

Anyway... would like some suggestions on places that sells a good collection of watch straps (leather especially) in KL / PJ area. Want to get some to "freshen up" my watches.

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. Went there on the weekend. Bought a strap to try out. Not too impressed. Stiff leather. Buckle looks cheap.

I am in a strap craze this past week so was on strap hunting mode. From my experience, most regular watch shop stocks poor quality leather straps. But they are cheap to begin with so what you pay is what you get I suppose. But I've also found some good places that sells good quality straps:

Red Army Watches (Tropicana City): Hirsch straps. Limited selection but have been impressed with the quality. Bought 2 from them. Will definitely buy more when as collection grows.

Watatime: Di-Modell straps. Pretty good too. Bought one. I like it.

Hour Glass (Lot 10): Morellato. Another establish brand. But limited selection. Didn't see anything I like.

More suggestion on places to buy straps is most welcomed!  ;D

We don't have much shop selling good quality strap but we do have good strap makers here ;) Especially Mr Chiewata!! Maybe you can show some of your art work and start taking orders

Cheers!

Guys

I am sort of looking at some generic straps for my homage.
Something like; 26/24 and 24/24 and 24/22?.... good and reasonable price.
Anyone with the above unwanted / extra straps to spare?..please pm me.

DC
I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Yes they are german made. Can get better deal on the Internet but don't mind paying a little extra to see / handle the straps and match it to the watch.

Was looking for 20mm and 22mm straps. Haven't got any panerais yet so don't need those bigger straps.

Changing straps does make you feel like you're wearing a new watch.
