I give up.....
« on: October 04, 2011, 03:11:14 PM »
I guess some things are just not meant to be. This is my 5th attempt to get myself an Omega Moon watch or the Speedmaster. Sadly was not to be.....

The watch I was trying to get today. Sadly the guy did not want to reduce the price thinking the watch is a limited edition watch and it should have a premium. At RM7,600 it is a bit too much for the watch.

The watch in question.

Oh well, back to trying to get the PAM00219 I guess.

Life always have unexpected surprises in store for you.
When you least expect it, it will happen.
It's like tetris... it will fall into place sooner or later...
Keep the faith... and enjoy the hunt...

From what I know, speedy moonwatch retail for around 12-13k...
Broad Arrow even more...
If he's asking rm7600 and the watch is in good condition fullset, I am thinking it's reasonable?
Maybe it's just me.
Because I am too cincai, always kena take advantage... lol

Sad to know that ;)

I too had the same situation early this year... i paid the seller (via paypal) but he told me he don't want to sell and willing to do a full refund... due to the security sending from US to Malaysia... that time was RM6800 if i'm not mistaken...

so, gave up too, and got a 3752 model ;) good too, this model only produce for a year and very limited in production.. but look exactly same as 3750/3753 so don't think will fetch high value in long run, just to make myself feel better :D

hanz079, mnazri.tan,

The price quoted by Scott sounds about right, perhaps a couple of hundred less (condition dependent). this is full kit in the original black box (not the standard red Omega box) and papers. With out box and papers should be about a couple of hundred less.

Scoot C,

Interesting, must keep a look out. I missed out on a Snoopy edition by 1 hour. Sigh!!!!

G.MAC,

Yeah still thinking about this one. I would likely go new on this one as the pre-loved prices don't make sense. The difference being about Rm1.5k from retail. Perhaps I should just put my name down for this one.

:Startled: you mean PAM 219 price increase in pre-owned market? Or is it more readily available from the AD and boutique?

G.MAC,

Nope it is cheaper in the pre-loved market, but not by much. Hence it does not make sense to get it from the pre-loved market. The difference between new and pre-loved is about RM1,500.

engkow,

Your cousin very lucky. The retail for the watch now in Taiwan is NTD 190,000. Early this year was NTD 181,000. So indeed your cousin got a bargain.

I don't know if this is the same one but here goes...

Now the rm7600 looks like a damn good price to me though.
Anyway, the AD mentioned that Omega will be launching their New Planet Ocean next month at Saujana something... (did not get the name of the place fully)
He will be there.

Hanz079,

The model I was looking at is the older Speedmaster Broad Arrow reference 3594.50. The one in your photograph is the newer (but also discontinued) reference 3551.20. There are difference between the two watches:

3594 vs 3551

Movement: 1861 vs 3303
Crystal: hesalite vs sapphire
WR: 3 ATM vs 10 ATM
No date vs Date

Thanks Hobbs for pointing out the difference...
Omega have a knack for producing watches that look similar but altogether different... if that statement makes any sense... lol

PAM 219??? u are wearing ur watch on right hand??? you might hav a tough time selling it later as the design is abit different... the winding thing on the left side.

outlander2005,

You can wear it on your right or left wrist. It does not really matter.

As for selling it, I think it is easier than the PAM00111 or even other Panerai models as it is very popular. Added with the fact that it is has a low yearly production number, and a wait list (well here in Taiwan and in HK if I am not mistaken), it would be an easy sale. Look at the pre-loved prices of Destro model, they are almost like new prices. Older Destro models are selling at all time highs.
