Hi All
« on: September 26, 2011, 09:07:17 PM »
Well hello there  ;D

I'm new here and would like to say hello to all the members!

I never maintain my watches and that is a mistake which led me to this forum. Yes I have 4 watches that needs to be fixed and was googling for local repair services when I stumbled upon this forum. So here I am. From the forum I gathered that the [Shop name removed - MOD] in Amcorp is the place to go. Planning to pay them a visit soon to get a Breitling, Corum fixed and new straps for a Franck Muller and a Suunto.

Cheers all.

Moddy

Thanks fellas for the welcome!

I'm ashamed to put up pics of my watches because I simply pakai only until they look relic'ed. Well except for the Breitling which has a metal strap. Not much of a collector myself, just a born user.

But will try to take some pics for our amusement.

Haha.

Hello moddy,

Welcome to MSW and hope you enjoy your stay here.
Do share with us your pieces as I am sure most (if not all ) of the members here would love to hear from you on the "Breitling, Corum, Frank Muller and Suunto."

Cheers.

Ok here they are in the sorry state they're in.

The strap for the FM is peeled off at the top
The Corum winding knob comes right off once it's unscrewed, yes, it can be removed with the needle, the watch still works though. But I cannot adjust the time.
The Suunto Observer this is the second resin strap which was eaten alive by my sweat, thinking to get a steel or leather replacement.
the Breitling has multiple scar wounds and both chrono buttons are sealed, caked in.

Haha.. any good advice to prevent recurrence of above symptoms will be much appreciated bros.

p/s my apologies to the mod about putting the shop's name.

The FM strap can be replaced with a new one.
If you are still keen to keep the Corum in "near perfect" working condition, my advice is get the knob fixed by a professional watch repairer.
Suunto resin strap - same as FM, can be replaced with a band of your choice.
Breitling - use polish like brasso etc to slowly remove the "scar", I think. (do Googled for more info.)
