Not your everyday Tag..
« on: September 26, 2011, 03:29:26 AM »
On one of my senior colleague's wrist. A quite quirky vintage Tag Airlines. Can't seem to get much info about the watch off the net. Sort of like your forgotten step child in Tag's catalogue.

Apparently the last time it went into service, he was told by the tech that it still works fine but if it breaks down then it's junkyard time. Quartz GMT modules are not really a dime a dozen nowadays and he was offered a trade in on newer models.

Told me he won it off a now retired colleague from a bet during the 1990 world cup.

Rotatable bezel to track 3 time zones.

Etched cities and also their respective timezones on the bracelet.

Quite a tiny lil' thing by today's perspective.

Wow never seen such a config before!
Too bad its quartz, if not if properly maintained can last ages.

A very unique wacth from Tag.
If it is a mechanical (either self-winding or manual winding), I am sure it will fetch a far greater price compared to a quartz.

it's funny considering that the former owner "surrendered" the watch so easily to him because he's getting older and it's hard for him to read the time due to the size and glossy dial. Now that my colleague is the same age, he is having the same problem too.

Same goes to most of my senior colleagues with gold dialed Datejusts. Have to squint and move their wrist back and forth to read the time.
