C1 vs C3 Lume, not C4 here
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:45:40 AM »
All sifus and master, is there a different grade for C1 coating? cause I experience same C1 but one can last longer than the other one. Between C1 and C3, which will be better?

C3 should be better and last longer.

How about within C1 itself, are there different grade too?

C1 & C3 is the color code of the Super Luminova brand luminous compound for watches, one of the best in swiss watches
(produce by Japanese firm)

C1 appear in white in bright. green in dark
C3 appear in Creamy green in bright. green in dark

c3 brighter and last longer than c1

there are many other brand that supply luminous compound

From my personal experience, I find that the luminova C3 on a PAM definitely glows brighter than the C1 on my Damasko DA47 Black but I find the duration of the glow on both to be about the same. However, I personally found that the Damasko was alot more visible in the dark than the PAM  after about 6 hours of complete darkness but then again this is probably because the Damasko has a full lume dial and the contrast was much greater. Overall, I think C1 isn't too bad and serves it's purpose well. Just my 2 sen

Hmmm, interesting chart, now there are even more grades for lume, said 2 different watches with C1 lume, but one last longer than the others, is it due to the different grade within C1 or aging problem of the watch?
